If there were an 8 team playoff, who would you pick for the three wild card spots?

1 Clemson 12-0................ACC
2 Alabama 11-1................SEC
3 Oklahoma 11-1..............Big-12
4 Iowa 12-0.....................Big-10
5 Michigan State 11-1
6 Ohio State 11-1
7 Stanford 10-2................Pac-12
8 Notre Dame 10-2
9 Florida State 10-2
10 North Carolina 11-1
11 TCU 10-2
12 Baylor 9-2

Baylor, TCU & Michigan State. The first two basically lost due to injury issues as the Big 12 would have probably played out differently if not for them. Michigan State because of their quality wins even if they were to lose to Iowa.

why wouldnt UNC jump them?

SOS will be about the same after they play Clem....

UNC would have won their conference champ...OSU didnt even GO to one. that's big.

UNC would be the "hotter" team having won many in a row...OSU just lost to MSU

what is tOSU's advantage? they won last year? that's all i can think of

Interesting takes so far.

IMO, Ohio St. would surely get a spot in an 8 team playoff, no matter what happens this weekend.

If Clemson wins, I give the Big-10 loser a spot & Notre Dame.

If Clemson loses, I give them a WC spot & the Big-10 loser, only if it's close. If the Big-10 loser gets blown out 42-0, then I give it to Notre Dame.

As far as this season goes, some good teams are going to be left out. Ohio St.'s biggest problem is they lost late in the season, and teams are always punished for that. If N. Carolina pulls the upset over Clemson, I think the committee gives them that 4th playoff spot.

What if we just started right now with no conference champions and moving on:

1 Clemson v 16 Oregon --------
8 NDame v 9 FSU. --------
--------
5 Michigan St v 12 Baylor --------
4 Iowa v 13 Ole Miss --------

--------------------------

3 Oklahoma v 14 N'western --------
6 OHio St v 11 TCU --------
--------
7 Stanford v 10 UNC. --------
2 Alabama v 15 Michigan. --------

wallah! Problem(s) solved.

ONLY, if they hammer the Tigers. UNC played a really soft non-con schedule which will be held against them. That being said, were they to beat Clemson by say, three touches, I could see it in the cards.

Lol. Yeah. Just seing these first round matchups makes me horny. S'all.

Frankly, I'd like to see a 16 team playoff, make it like the pros. Good gracious, all that money being left on the table, just thinking about THAT gets me off, LOL.
