[h=1]Need Help- On Starting New Life[/h]

Hello everyone, my name is Paul and I've decided to ask for help cause everything i've been doing isn't working. Just a brief background. I'm 22, I played travel hockey from 6-14 years old and football from 14-21 inlcuding 3 years in D3 college. I've always been around 180-190 lbs with very little body fat and good muscle definition. However, sports made it so easy to stay in shape. But I broke my ankle junior year in college and didn't play my senior year. Since then I have taking up the hobby of binge drinking and eating fast food. I am now 248 and disgusted with myself. I work 40 hours a week and Im just looking for a little advice on how to begin training on your own without having a coach tell you to do something? I'm a very competitive right now type guy so my diets are always crash diets and they always end up crashing, haha. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. And thanks in advance.

Alright thanks a lot guys. I'm at work right now with out much to do so I'm going to spend the rest of the day coming up with a new complete plan from these readings. I'll get back to you with my ideas. My goal is to get back to 180. I have 20-30 polo shirts that I collected through college that I can't even wear cause I've gotten too fat so my goal is to be able to wear those again also. Just one quick question... what are your guys opionions on fat loss pills like hydroxicut??

Oh wow, you guys are all so supportive it's awesome. I'm to used to my friends... "hey fat ***, want another comedy sandwich (thats what they call the 24 inch philly cheesesteaks I've been getting)? As for my ankle it's been about two and a half years and I had therapy on it all through the summer to get ready for senior year of football even though it didn't work out, so it's been in use and it's ready to go.

But I'm going to the grocery store after work to pick up a laundry list of items Ive been reading about, I had a fairly good understanding of this because of my athletic background, I've just never had to look at the diet side of things.

My question is before I finalize stuff is what is the best way to go about the beginning? Do I attack it full force or do I ease in to it. I know in football we had 2 weeks of 2 a-days and that would whip you up in shape in no time. But this being on your own in the real world stuff makes it tougher. Like should I just go the first 2 weeks eating no carbs and working out twice a day?

Thanks again for your encouragement.

The sad thing is, we all know this guy was a fat fucking loser, and an alcoholic. This is just confirmation of what we already knew.

Switching Forums after 7 Years! Looking forward to it Here!

Alright, been an active member of another forum across the street for over 7 years. I'm a software developer and work at my home office most days so I'm on the computer a lot. Also built some sweet tools for bet tracking in the other forum that we used for the NBA season. I just can't stand some of the people there and the mods just do not respect posters. Very excited for coming to a new place and meeting new people. I created an account here 3 years or so ago because some guy from the other site wanted me to argue some econ with another poster, haha... so I never really got to get in to the site.

Anyways, just wanted to introduce myself because I'll be here quite a bit.

A 22 year old who drinks too much and eats fast food and an ex-athlete. Gee, that's unusual. Not sure what the point of this thread is. Somebody trying to get back in shape at a young age...how scandelous.

I understand you don't like ak but this is a bad attempt to bash him. I don't even see it as embarrassing but you must somehow

The funniest part was you asserting you "worked 40 hours a week"

The fact that you were bullied says a lot about your shut-in behavior here.

The scariest part is how they search this stuff down. But festeringZit is a weird ass dude. Makes sense.

Why's this a negative? Change isn't easy and it's even harder for most people to ask for help. Wish more people in our country would take their health/physical fitness more seriously.

Sorry, I'm drunk, meant to say this.

[ That was 3.5 years ago. Let me guess you've been going to AA, and you're cured? ROFL ]

Lol, I guess 99% of people on this site are alcoholics who go to AA because they drink alcohol. You are looking creepy right now man.

As if it took more than a one click google search. Idiot.

Oh it takes a while to search all that stuff down, lol. That's really creepy. You know I have never once even considered trying to Google you or even look at your history. That's what weird people like Sheriff Joe do.

This coming from someone who thinks he found another poster's dating profile (with no confirmation) and believes it's the funniest thing in the world.

This thread has the potential to become epic since akfagdrunk brings a lot of ridicule on himself. I'll put Paul's over/under at 265.5 on his current weight. Step right up and place your bets...
