Doggieinvestor - let me ask the question in another fashion.

Could you see Terry Francona, just before the game starts tonight, say to his team, "Alright fellas, Yanks lost today. Let's go out there and play hard - let's gain some ground on 1st place!" Something to an effect to spark a fire under thier asses.

Because if you think that is a reasonable hypothetical, if that is not too far-fetched to imagine, then the Yanks losing today has some effect on the Boston game.

I certainly agree that the Yankees loss could influence the Red Sox game by maybe 3 percentage points in either direction. But, in no way could it alter the odds enough to make it smart to risk ten times more (or whatever) on the game. The games are largely independent events.

Its not surprising the yanks lose, they were due to lose and people are too greedy at times which makes things worst for them.if you got them 2 times take your profit and go most people still pounding the rl and maybe end up losing allot.. Good cappers arnt greedy check it.

Boston luck is different from yanks so let's see what happends.

I have been betting for about 15 years. These days I mainly dabble around and play for fun. Example, I started with $500 at about a month into baseball season, and now have $1,500. I did not ask anyone to come in here and tell me how to gamble. The question I posed is not my theory on gaming - it is merely an attempt to get others impression to see if it influences betting.

34islucky mentioned that taking Lester is kind of scary because of his undefeated record against Balt. What goes up, must come down sometime right? I know there is a lot of season left, but in order for Boston to stay in the hunt for the division they must win against these shit teams, especially when Yanks lose. Don't you think there maybe just a little extra spark under their asses tonight to get out and play hard?

Sorry, I misread your reply and took it as kind of an insult. I understand what your saying, but I was not trying to state that I bet based upon throwing darts at a board. I was just wondering if people ever take into consideration things such win streaks, or division rival losses, etc.

I find it funny that people will be scared to bet a team on a 8game win streak because "they are bound to lose" or "what comes up must come down", but have no problems betting a good team playing .500 ball or something in their last 10.

How many Yankees this morning before their loss could even remember what starting pitchers they faced in games 1-4 of their streak?
