Chuck is right, this bill does little and apparently has no enforcement provisions against the bettor so you won't be doing anything illegal that you weren't before. It may make funding a little more difficult, but only losers need to fund anyway....all you winners out there already have the money you need so it's just a matter of collecting winnings when they come in, right? I think you quitters are in the minority.

D2, if the loser CANNOT fund their account, then where will the money come from to pay the winners? hmmmm

If passed, I doubt they will be going after the players. It seems they will target the financial institutions, meaning it will become much harder to transfer money in and out of the country, but not impossible.

Maybe they will decide to go after players, but the logistics of this are outrageous. If they did, you big players that are moving around 10-20 dimes at a time could see some heat. Small players like me will likely pass totally under the radar.

Biggest impact will be getting rid of the square money, causing a lot of the books to go under. The big players will survive though.

So, again, I'm not worried at all.

Yeah, but the 'losers' CAN fund their accounts, it just sounds like some of you 'losers' (no offense intended) may CHOOSE not to. I don't believe that the average online gambler will pay much, if any, attention to this. Most probably won't even know of it as I doubt it gets much publicity and their friendly online book isn't about to scream about it to them.

Has anything happened in the Senate today? I've been watching CSAN and all they are talking about is IF they should complete an energy Bill, unless I've missed something.

what if you open an account with barclays london, send them some money, and then ask them for a bank wire from london to your offshore, that is surely one good loophole, right? You are not sending the money from the u.s., you are funding your account from abroad, so would this be illegal?

If this bill passes, will banks stop cashing checks from sportsbooks? That is my only concern. I mean, the check is in US Dollars
drawn on accounts in banks in the US.
There won't be any problems cashing checks right? That is my only concern

Very Good Question--A check is a bank instrument, but I am concerned what about Neteller also and how they would be affected.
