Please define "dynasty". I think they are pretty damn good (win or lose). They were a play-in team! I magine if Lincecum hadn't fallen apart and was still in his 20010 form.

I realize that. But what does a "dynasty" mean? 3 titles in 5 years is impressive...but is 5 years long enough?

Not sure. Dynasty means something different to everyone. Some people only think of the television show.

Because they are so hard to come by, getting 3 in 5 years should be considered a dynasty (imo).

Hell, if the Cubs won just ONE they'd say it was a dynasty!!!

I've always thought 3 in row was the minimum qualification.

What hurts them is the years after they won it (09 and 11) they didn't even make the playoffs.

So, if an NFL team won three straight titles they wouldn't be a dynasty?
Different sport. Everyone has a different definition to the word 'dynasty' but baseball with no salary cap can't compare with the NFL and their cap.
