defense looked a lot better then some of these SEC teams did today..... just saying
A top 10 recruiting class may not come into play as much with a playoff system where you have to play two games back to back. This top 10 recruiting thing isn't my argument. It's a fact that has been pretty much a requirement to win the BCS title for the last decade. But we are under a new playoff system now. These things may not pertain quite as much to this new format. But we just don't know yet.defense made some good plays...if you look around at the current landscape , no great teams out there..Oregon has as good as chance as any of these flawed teams.... even without the top 10 recruiting class that you'll argue
I was knocking Stanford long before they played Oregon. Shaw is way too conservative of a coach. And they no longer have a dominate offensive line. That's why they are 5-3...5-4 after tonightHere we go... As soon as Oregon wins everyone wants to knock Stanford.... Everyone relax... Stanford has a top 10 defense.... Oregon scored at will..... Speak to what it is, oregon is good, stop trying to act like they're not. They have the best qb in the nation and one of the best offenses. Yes their defense is a question mark, but today's football is based upon offense and efficiency, not defense. Sorry to say that. I wish it was opposite. I'm a ducks fan but I can see the truth. Bama is good, so is miss. State, so is Michigan state, etc etc... Stop writing the ducks off because of their defense. They just stopped Stanford. Their next biggest test isn't the pac 12 title game or the final four, it's Utah at utah.... For those of you who are pac 12 illiterate, that's one of the best defenses around, top 25 and the nations leader in sacks.... They did their job, now they need to beat Utah, after that they can coast until the pac 12 title game

The funny thing about that game is Auburn was also ranked out of the top 10 in recruiting, at number 11. The only team to win the BCS title in the last decade that was out of the top 10 in recruiting. Red Eye, the fact is in most years both of the teams who are in the BCS title game are top 10 recruiting teams. Like last year with FSU/Auburn.might be a fact, but Oregon could easily have won in 2010.. Championship came down to final drive... my point is it can happen...

I hope your right. I get tired of seeing the same old programs in there..I agree that more often then not a top 10 recruiting team will be a strong favorite to get in a playoff or championship game, but you'll still see teams outside of the top 10 make strong runs...Recruiting isn't an exact science....
It's really a scary thought to think of what Bill Snyder could have done with OU's or or Texas talent.Even the great Bill Snyder is ranked in the 50's and 60's in recruiting........If he was getting Top 20 I think he could do it.....He's been really, really close a few times with inferior talent although the Michael Bishop game was a choker in the Big 12 Title Game in late 90's.
