Then i will have lost all hope in the possible changing of times for the better. I am not certain, no matter who is president, that we will ever see better times, but atleast with change, I will maintain some hope.

General, if I were you I would move to Mexico or Canada. They have it much better than we do in the US.

Excellent point maybe we should go back in time to an era when weren't the only super power on earth.

Maybe rebuild the
Berlin wall, you can go fight all them imaginary commies again, rather than use resources on the technolgical and medical advancement of mankind, we can waste them on the socialist ideal you call home.

The USA was created in direct opposition to your kind, rather then detract why not move, you will undoubtedly only be a burden on our system going forward, so why nolt shift that burden to one of those lesser countries who's idealogy you idolize?

Its very easy to just label people who disagree with you "commies" or "hippies" but I bet you that if you walk around your neighbourhood you'll be surprised how many people disagree with you who dont fall into those categories.

Maybe you should go read that poll I just posted from the very state in which I live.

Idjit, maybe you should go out and ask your neighbors if they explicitly sanction a guy who has oppressed and murdered generations of Iraqi's and whether we should wait till he has nukes pointed at bigben to invade,

wonder what their answer will be.

Wouldn't it be a lot better just to move to a country who holds the same beliefs....Example, France, Germany, etc....

If you are not happy in the US wouldn't this make the most since?

Sure, and then the US economy would collapse as half your population applies for EU citizenship.

Collapse?

The folks that make this country great are those who do not depend upon the government dole,

we would have records surpluses if they all left.

KMAN, your point is not without merit.

I and many others I know who are disgruntled with a lot about our federal government give consideration to moving to other countries.

There's a lot of great places to live besides the U.S.A.

But damnit, I kinda like the scene here. And fortunately, history suggests that our population is fairly balanced in thought, so therefore, I'm never too far from getting someone preferable to replace those I dislike.

But yeah, I've got a passport and I'm not afraid to use it....the thought of GW finally being elected and then perhaps being followed by Brother JEB! in 2008 could do it....smile

My most recent concern is that with the events of the past year combined with the zealotry of the Bush administration to use the military for nefarious purposes, my 18 year old son could be subject to mandatory conscription and forced by law to join the killing machine. In such an event, relocating to another country and giving him safe haven would be a legitimate option.

xpanda - I would love for all of the liberals to move to another country where they can be bombed by terrorists and do nothing about it, get taxed beyond comprehention, and give their money to lazy people on welware.

That sound like a great country!!!!!!!!

barman - According to liberals on this board, the US is the worst country in the world to live in....granted half the people like xpanda, don't even live in the US so it's hard to consider them a good source, but I know if I hated the country I lived in, I would move!

Kman: I hardly think the US is the worst country to live in (I like Canada better, but I think that usually goes without saying.) I just think the US abuses their power in the international arena time and time again.

As for your first comments implying the grave situations in other countries -- since you don't live there, I guess you're as bad a source as internationals on America?

Nope. Count me as a 'liberal' who loves his country just fine.

It's my federal government I fear. And like I noted above, the federal leadership has not had the same party in power more than 12 years except twice in the past 80 years.
