I know that the vegas casinos do it, i just wonder if any off-shore sportsbooks would extend any sizeable credit to a "whale" type of player. I would think it would be risky, but it may be a move that helps sportsbooks retain a great player. I think if i were a book, and had a huge player that has lost tons over the years that I may extend hin credit. I wonder what sportsbooks would do in this situation.

I would, and I think most books do... he has to be a "very good" customer though, if you know what i mean..

I think he means that he has a seriously great reputation like a Steve wynn, or has lost so much and sent money so fast that they think he is good for 50k credit if he needs it. I am guessing however.

Meyer Lansky would never ask such a foolish question.

You must be a nine year old Meyer Lansky.

Meyer, the EASIEST WAY a book can LOSE a "good" (losing) player, IS TO GIVE HIM CREDIT, unless it's someone with an untold fortune like a Kirk Kirkorian or Carl Ichan type guy - and even then with a weekly settle.

By the time the real Meyer Lansky was 14, he learned this valuable lesson.

Joey C is dead on here.
It'll start out ok, then he'll starting asking for more & more credit.

Then one day he disappears.

Just keep enticing w/ bonuses & gifts that will keep him happy and forget about the credit.

It will surely end up in you losing the customer.

EVERYTIME a good (losing) player is extended credit he will become a laydown. Joey has already informed you of this but ask any bookmaker that has allowed a post up player to become a credit player and he will repeat verbatim what Joey said. If the two have a business relationship thats one thing but any post up player that was solicted via the book's marketing efforts the book should never extend credit to that player ever.

Joey C is correct.

I'm a restaurant owner and I had a great customer that stopped in once a week with family and friends. He'd been coming in for years. One day the guy comes in and asks if he can eat and pay me next week as he's a little short. I give him the credit and of course I never see him again.

Joey C, this is not the last stupid thing that you might hear from me. It was kind of a rhetorical question that i asked to see if anyone was doing it. Now who is the moron here? Just kidding Joey C, but please once in a while let's lighten up and read between the lines.

Meyer: good to see you're posting again after an 18 month layoff. Where have you been?

Raiders, did he at least tip the waiter?

Right-O Joey. Why convert a post up guy to credit? Makes no sense to me.

The old, i have been here, but really haven't had the desire to post. I am not sure how long I will last.Time will tell. I see some solid people here along with a lot of people with serious agendas and ulterior motives. If I can stomach the bad ones then I will hang around. Have a nice day The old ballgame.
