You would think he'd have better sense than this, but no

Steelers assistant coach and former player Joey Porter was arrested and charged with multiple offenses after an altercation outside of a South Side bar Sunday night.
Pittsburgh police said that around 9:30 p.m. security guards at The Flats on East Carson Street summoned a police officer who was working at a nearby restaurant “due to an unruly customer who was in the process of assaulting the doorman.”

Once the officer arrived on the scene, the officer stopped the assault and arrested the 39-year-old Mr. Porter.

He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail and was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

Yeah, I thought the coaches would take out #7 when they took out Bell. It is one thing to leave him in the game, it is another to call a pass play.

That was just dumb.

I don t care for Tomlin. A fing coach stepping onto the field during a play then smirking about it? Should have suspended him for a year.. class organization, at least they got their qb to stop raping girls...we ll work on the coaches next

nothing wrong with leaving Ben in. But only in the capacity to hand the ball off to DeAngelo. I get passing the ball to get the first down and end the game but it really wasnt necessary up 3 scores

Ben is fine and will play but the pass play they called up wasnt the best.

Tomlin has won super bowls. Gets his team to the playoffs most years and actually wins playoff games too. He has the respect of his players. Pittsburgh has shown loyalty to their coaches and it's paid off with multiple SB wins over the years. Firing Tomlin will only put him on another team to succeed and leave Pitt with an unknown at head coach.
Tomlin isnt without his faults, as with most...PEOPLE. But overall he's a decent coach with a good track record.

and JoeyP is a doof. Alcohol causes more problems than it fixes

Never been to Pittsburg; Is the south side of town where the tough-guys hang out ?

eh, maybe. It is more like where the 20-somethings go to get drunk out of their minds and to the surprise of nobody, trouble ensues.

Yeah, I think it might have been better to throw a quick pass on 1st down and try to get a few yards, then setup a play on 3rd down.
Ben has to be smarter there and just stumble forward and fall down letting the clock run.

I'm kind of "meh" on Tomlin. But I realize that the Steelers could do a lot worse with head coaching choices.

It will be interesting to see if this ends Porter's career in Pittsburgh. The Rooney's are fair people, but you can't do this in between playoff games.

South side is where everybody goes. Its right across the river from the stadium . probably over 50 bars. This is where the action is, women and music. If you want to go to the tough section, you have to go to the North Side, Gangs and a lot of violence there.

Most serious charges dropped (angering the police officers union) and Joey will be on the sidelines in KC

The Steelers have decided to reinstate outside linebackers coach Joey Porter, who was arrested Sunday night at a South Side bar following the Steelers’ playoff victory against the Dolphins.
“At this time, we have decided that Joey Porter will return to our coaching staff for the game in Kansas City this weekend,” team president Art Rooney II said. “We have reviewed the available information regarding the incident that took place on Sunday night.
