Steelers assistant coach and former player Joey Porter was arrested and charged with multiple offenses after an altercation outside of a South Side bar Sunday night.
Pittsburgh police said that around 9:30 p.m. security guards at The Flats on East Carson Street summoned a police officer who was working at a nearby restaurant “due to an unruly customer who was in the process of assaulting the doorman.”
Once the officer arrived on the scene, the officer stopped the assault and arrested the 39-year-old Mr. Porter.
He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail and was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
