I noticed that Sting has done a nice job of changing the style in which he rates books, and in my opinion, no one does it as well as sportsbookreview.com

However, their ratings are entirely SUBJECTIVE, but I'd like this site to have ours be more OBJECTIVE...

I'd love to hear any suggestions you guys have on how we can improve this vital section...

Thanks in advance,

THE SHRINK

Vote on a group of posters (maybe 10 or so) Volunteer Board that evaluates the sportsbooks that they experience. and posts honest opinions on them

I would be willing to give my help in evalutaing books I play at......problem is that there are so many books that 10 people wouldn't be able to play at all of them. Also, we may not be able to judge payouts at all of them

I'd be willing to help. I've played with several dozen books over the last couple years.

I think a vetern, respected group of non-AB RXer's would be the fairest way ...

guys like Dicky, Pat, entropy, D2, Big Lou, etc ... (I'm sure there are dozens of excellent choices)

When you do the score, may I suggest you do it like they score diving (I think?). Where you throw out the top score and low score then score. It would keep most from complaining about someone bumping or pulling down a score. I also have some other ideas that would make the best OBJECTIVE rating system in our industry. Just shoot me an email Shrink or the mods.

Someone earlier had the consensus idea already. That's your best bet imo for good ratings. Be prepared to accept the outcome which will undoubtably upset more than a few advertisers. Be prepared for an angry backlash from bookmakers who will not agree with their rating.

Buzz, how do your advertisers feel when you get bad feedback or a rating they do not agree with and/or think is fair?

I have thought on this matter for a long period and never had a feasible idea come to mind. The best advice is to do searches on the book and ask some questions. That is as good as it gets I think.

the best thing that books can learn from this is how to improve there prouduct, you cant get better if you dont know what your customers like/dislike

I think we should keep it interesting and have me develop a BCS (book comparison software) instead of having humans handle this delicate process ...

it works so well for those idiots in the NCAA commitee

Nice initiative.

imo, best option would be as others have said, put a group together of say 25-50 unbiased people and take the average rating. I'm sure there'll be bashers as always tho

The more people giving input the better... but you need someone in charge to help sift thru the bullshit... i think the general would be a great guy for the job.... no agenda and known to be fair and honest.
