Was knocked down and will probably miss a few games...The Japanese phenom was on pace to reach the alltime single season hit mark 257

I think its George Sisler's record Ichiro is chasing...hopefully he gets back to make a run at it..

Sherm, I have no inside info, just the obvious suspicions that the Yanks would love to have him at the top of their order, especially if they do not win it all this year.

Don't get too excited, he signed a 4-year deal during the last offseason. M's will be competitive quickly, they have had a deep farm system in recent years that they haven't parted with in trades. If they sign a couple of guys this off-season and the young pitching is stable they will be back to .500 next year and challenging for the playoffs again in two years.
