How do you guys like the title of the thread? (LOL) Just trying to have a little fun with the heat. God knows I need it. Thought I would try and keep a thread of my time here in Vegas. Maybe a month to month look at how things are going out in Las Vegas for me. Like I said yesterday maybe a few others can use this as a learning tool if they ever think of making the big move out here to do this or maybe this thread will sway others to not make the move. Who knows, we shall see how it goes.
To basically review where I am from other threads. I am 37 years old and this past winter me and my soon to be wife (hate saying girlfriend at 37 years old and the word fiancee sounds dumb to me) decided to pack up our 2 dogs and 1 cat and make the big move out here. I have always wanted to come to Vegas and live for a year or two since as long back as I can remember. Couple that with I had never left the area where I grew up and we were both looking for career changes. Not getting too specfic but a few things also happened along the way this past winter in our lives where we seen a few people regretting the fact they never took a risk in life or followed their dreams and so we decided we didnt want to feel like that later in life. We both felt we were going down that same path in our lives and if we didnt go now, we most likely never would have went.
The plan is for her to work and from the other stuff I/we do, make enough combined to pay our monthly bills. Basically allowing myself a chance to try and bet and build a bankroll on the side without having to worry about "winning the rent money". Hopefully this will lessen the stress that comes with living this lifestyle. I have always believed that if I was too truly attempt this than that part must be a must. The ultimate goal is to walk away from this in the future with a certain amount of money saved up. I think along the way we plan to try and focus on our next future goals (whatever that is) and to live a pretty simple life here in Vegas (if that is possibile, LOL). When I mean simple, I mean cheap.
Left town Monday and morning and drove 30 hours from Michigan only stopping to eat, sleep and gas up. Our moving company just arrived at our Michigan residence today due to a huge mix up and so we are currently living in our Vegas home without furniture, beds and most of our clothes. It hasnt been fun but we do now have internet and TV up and going, so this makes things more bearable.
GF was hired at one of the Vegas casino's to work as a web designer. I hope to do some of the things I have been doing successfully the past 2 years betting wise and adding in some more of the Vegas things into the mix. Have spoke to a few different posters about "working" with/for them in Vegas doing some different things. I am meeting 2 different groups of people later in the week/month to go over this. Hopefully that works out on that end. I will continue to play mainly offshore but I would be lying if I said that moving money became so frustrating and is also another of the many reasons why I am here right now. Hopefully one day that will all be figured out and we can get back to the "good ole days" of betting sports and moving money. God knows I miss them days dearly.
That pretty much sums everything about why and what we were thinking as to this move. Going to add another post in a few minutes about since I have been here and what I have seen and felt.
