Will wait on the price for this one, but will be on the Nationals when the first pitch is thrown. Lannan struggled bad in his last start, but he has done very well on the road so far this season. The Cubs havent seen a lefty that was worth a damn in quite a while, and their struggling offense has historically struggled against a pitcher like Lannan. Itll always be hard to make a case for a team like the Nationals on the road against a team like the Cubs, but this is the spot that Marquis has struggled in so far this season. He is 1-5 at night, and he has an ERA that is 2 points higher at home. Kearns and Belliard both have had past success against Marquis and Miledge is 2-2 in his limited chances. Lannan tossed up 7 shut-out innings the first time he faced the Cubs this year. This play isnt going to be a pretty one, but with the way the Cubs have been leaving runners in scoring position the last couple days, Ill take my chance on a Nationals team to sneak up at get GM1 against the Cubs.
Houston +195
Getting Oswalt at this price is too much to pass up on for me. He has looked lights-out in two of his last 3 outings, and to get him at 2:1 is a must play in my book. Beltran and Delgado have both had past success against Roy, but Ill have to deal with that. It isnt pretty when you are getting +200, but Ill just hope the Astros continue to play good baseball and the recent look at Santana serves this team well. The Mets pen has struggled badly recently, and if the Astros can get Santana's pitch count up then I like their chances of stealing this one. Santana has faced some shitty line-ups the last couple times out and I hope having to face the Astros will be a tougher challenge. This game should be low scoring is Oswalt is in form and Ill roll the dice with this sort of return.
