the Chicago Cubs right now because everybody in America thinks they are just going to fall over and lay dead just because they are 10 games out of first place in their division. I think this is the perfect setup. Dusty Baker really isn't that stupid. I was reading an article by som St Louis columnist and he even made up a saying for the Cardinals this year,
" Fast dogs never run far ".
I really dont care if Cardinals win the division. The Cubs will win the wildcard guaranteed.

If Maddux is the Cubs' 5th starter then he has to be the best 5th starter in the history of baseball. Another impressive CG from Maddux today. Looking like the Maddux of old.

Hitman, don't need that much in the pen in the playoffs if you have great pitching that goes deep. Was Marlins pen that great last year? Cubs will probably get last years' Marlins closer, Urbina, soon.

I don't think bullpens usually decide world series'.

Speaking of Maddux, if somehow the the Cubs win the wildcard don't look for him to stay the #5 starter in the post-season. Maddux at worst will pitch game 3 behind Prior and Wood if they are healthy, if unhealthy he will move up.

+450 to win the NL? What are you nuts? How is that a good value? They might be still be in contention, but it is silly to think there is value in that number. And if you think they are good value at +450, you must be falling over yourself at 14-1 to win it all because obviously a lot more value in that bet.

Cubs just don't have the offense to win it all if you ask me. Yeah big edge in starters over the other NL potentials except maybe Florida, but the rest of the teams have better guns and despite what most people think, offense is still very important in the postseason.
