Ah, JJ, you weren't even close - the correct answer about my former job: a consultant in Fortune 100 companies (actually the Fortune 10 the past 15 years) in the field of mainframe programming and systems analysis. The common sense I used was simply keeping my nose to the grindstone, working like a fool, saving my ducats and knowing exactly what it was that I wanted and finding out how to get there. My job was, however, only a means to an end, and now I have the freedom to chat with the good folks and you here without worrying. But I can tell you this - there is no dishonor in any job if there is honor and integrity in the man, and if I had to mop floors to keep food on the table and the lights on, I'd try to be the best janitor I could.
