I use to love the old harrahs sportsbook, reason being, well they had real tables infront of the chairs we sat at.

A guy could put all his paperwork on the table, eat drink and be comfortable while watching the games he bet.

Now the greedy bastards have blackjack tables in there ~~:<<

All the other sportsbooks have that stupid movie theatre style seating with no tables infront of you.

My question is, Are there any sportsbooks in vegas that have what Im looking for?

I saw pics of the orleans, the green tables look great but the chairs look very uncomfortable.

BTW, I have two teams that I will be on most of the season
Auburn and Michigan
reason being
Auburn went 2-10 ATS last year
Michigan went 3-9 ATS
when teams do that, the info I dug up anyway, seems to show teams that were bad against the spread with heavy expections seem to thrive well.
Im more sold on auburn week 2 than I am Michigan.

if you have means to get off the strip, go to Texas Station in NLV or Sunset Station in Henderson. Lots of seating, most of it seats with small tables in front for your writing. Plus Fatburger right around corner from sportsbook at each location. Haven't been to Mandalay in several years, memory is foggy, but thought they might have had tables too.

Try Bally's Sports book. It is not near the main casino. It is one level lower, by the shops. It is also by some good food places.

If you are looking for Auburn and Mochigan to wager on, tread lightly. You are looking at teams that may finish 6-6 this season S/U. Auburn will be favored in their first 4 home games. There are a lot of potential pit falls for them.

Michigan is a lot more cut and dried. Without giving away a lot of predictions, they will do well when they are suppose to, and fail to cover when they are suppose to. That does not necessairily mean as favorites or dogs. That means what their history ATS dictates. Michigan has NEVER covered more than 7 games in a season for the last 5 seasons. Their overall record ATS is 25-34 during that span. Subtract their poor season last year and they are still under .500 for the previous 4 seasons.

Yes. Ballys is down. Here is the article:

New Yorker Harvey Cherches came to Las Vegas to gamble.

He arrived Sunday with plans to spend most of the week betting $20 to $30 per horse race from the book inside Bally's, where he's staying through Friday.

Imagine his surprise when he showed up at the property's race and sports book Tuesday morning and found that all bets were off, literally.

A sign stated the book was closed and directed patrons to visit the race and sports book next door at Paris Las Vegas.

"It was almost like the 'Twilight Zone' seeing the place closed," Cherches said. "You don't expect to see a big hotel race and sports book that's been there for so many years just close like that."

Deanna Pettit, a spokeswoman for Bally's, confirmed the 285-seat sports book's closure, but she said the move is temporary. The sports book is scheduled to reopen in September.

Pettit wouldn't elaborate on reasons for the closing, but she said remodeling was not a factor. The sports book will occupy the same spot when it reopens in the fall. For now, the sports book at Paris Las Vegas will do double duty and serve customers of Bally's. Harrah's Entertainment owns both resorts.

"The Paris sports book is in such close proximity (to Bally's) that we didn't think it would inconvenience our guests to filter them over to Paris for the time being," Pettit said. "It's a captive group within Bally's and Paris, so we should be able to service our guests with the Paris sports book."

Customers might not be as captive as Harrah's executives think.

Cherches ignored the sign, eschewed the sports book at Paris and headed to the one at Bellagio instead. Nor does he plan to bet inside the Paris sports book while he's here. It's small, he said, and he's not sure it could pick up the slack for Bally's.

"Besides, it's just as easy for me to get across the street as it is to walk over to Paris, and Bellagio is nice," Cherches said.

The closure affects fewer than 10 employees, Pettit said.

Jason Been, an oddsmaker with Las Vegas Sports Consultants, said he wasn't privy to details behind the closing of Bally's book and he wasn't familiar with factors pushing the temporary shutdown.

But he did note that the summer season is the slowest time of the year for most sports books, with "only baseball pretty much going on," as well as some big golf tournaments and tennis events such as Wimbledon and the French Open.

Bally's will be open for the football season. By the way, with the economy going the way it is, this is just what you can expect, even during the season. A lot of action on the weekends, but little action on the weekdays. This is why Vegas pushes for more weekday games. Any type of game will do.
