I don't think it warrants a day off, but two keys are

1. NEVER bet anything that you cannot afford to lose.

2. NEVER chase your losses.

Hang in there, EDG went 0-19 once and turned it around - it happens to everybody now and again.

Lander: I don't do either! Esp. never chase ! That's ridiculous, like there won't be more games the next day ! I know i won't end every day on the plus, crazy to try, stupid even !, other point valid also, but the first one is key !

I would start in singling plays. No two teamers! Next, not best 9, but 2-3 plays, if that. Cap the sked and take your best spots. Limit plays to single unit, or less. When you are going 3-0 or 4-0, you graduate up. Either units, amount of spots, or both. There were not that many one runners today so you did not get notched. Only real bad beat was DBax. Again. I would be hesitant to two team until I could get singles down. Sorry Doug...Best Wishes...And better luck...OF

Cut way back, sit out or paper play, do not press!!!

Why are you doing 2-teamers?

2-teamers are almost always worse than playing each individually, UNLESS a. You're using matchplay; b. you want to bet more than your limits permit (or postup funds at a given book with a NWA line) or c. you are getting special odds on a parley (e.g. 7:1 on 3-teamer). If you had 9 plays, I'm guessing you weren't doing any of these.

Frog: Thanks for your concern and suggestions. I was really laughing at myself, this sets me back to about Wednesday.

I increase/ decrease my bets intuitevely, without trying to identify them as some fraction of Kelly criterion.

I like parlaying sides to totals in MLB, never claimed a bad beat, just a bad day ! I'm over it, already !

As to taking a day off, I can do that anytime, even got used to light Mondays in 1st half of season, now full schedule !

I ain't changing nothing, thanks for the concern Frog, you're top-shelf. I was really laughing at my result.

Ooops. Side/totals parley in the game game qualify as "good" also, for the books that allow that.

Daringly: I respect you well, and Frog as well;

The plays :

Fla +113

Mets -107

Pitts -1.5 and over parlay ( rarely take home team -1.5 )

Milw and over

SF and over

LA -1.5 and over ( rarely take home -1.5 , double exception today )

Colo and over

Ana and over

Tex and over

I like moderate to large dogs parlayed with over, often get 4,5 :1. In my defense my computer was screwing up badly today, so some bets were made quickly, but they fall within normal patterns !

oscar and casinghand; state some reasons why the plays were bad, not just because they lost !

How about some reasoning as to why they were bad ?

That's a fair question ? Now if Frog tells me those were poor choices, I'll listen, He will give me reasons. You guys criticize me late, and don't tell me why. If i'm a bookie's dream, tell me my errors ! I don't think either one of you newbies offers anything constructive.

Doug, relax this stuff is no big deal. Common replies to threads like this. I understand you had a tuff day, but it sounds like you are handling it well. Most likely the other posters are offline by now. Take the positive info from OF and Daringly and go with that. Pay no attention to the negative. Enjoy the day off from gambling tomorrow.

Best of luck, wil.

Bad idea taking Anaheim over, in pitchers park without Vlad and on a Sunday when they rest folks.

Yes Wilheim: I'm not betting tommorow, still online, no good reason to bet, or not bet, other than I haven't looked at any numbers, oops that's a reason !

Screw it! If you can't not bet a day, you're compulsive ! I can watch a game without having a bet, i can bet a game without it being televised. I rarely (if ever) bet a game because it's on TV, and if so it's like .1 units. If it's a game, and televised, it's a bonus, always another game next day ! Ain't no locks, IMO.

Doug,
You're posting your plays so you have to expect to have negative posts bout your plays! Its always after, like Monday morning Quarterbacking, lol! If you can't handle any negative responses then don't post your plays, on my end screw the 2 team parlays! As a book I love my players who play 2 teamers. Play 1 game a day straight , your book will hate that, guaranteed! 9 two teamers, hell I wish I had you as a customer!
