not any different than watching someone smoke.....you may "want" to say something, but it's not your place....they are adults, and can do as they choose.....if they ask, thats different, but chiming in, will probably only make them feel worse

Agreed - live and let live

Study investigates links between fat people and laziness and hoarding:

Are the fit tidier?

Many pack rats are overweight

Anyone who's watched Hoarders, the reality TV show about compulsive pack rats, may have noticed a pattern: many are overweight. New research reveals a link between a well-kept house and physical activity levels. The tidier a home, the fitter the homeowner.

The study, which is under review, examined the relationship between physical activity levels and the condition of participants' homes and streets. The researchers asked 998 African-Americans aged 49 to 65 of "higher socio-economic status" living in two St. Louis neighbourhoods how often they walked or performed other activities. They examined factors such as traffic and the presence of sidewalks.

Finally, the researchers and participants each evaluated the state of the home, including neatness. "We were looking at the walls, ceilings, the furniture," explains NiCole Keith, a professor of physical education at Indiana University-Purdue University in Indianapolis. "Was there a crack in the paint? Were the carpets ripped up or pretty nice?"

The result: the dominant factor that correlated to the level of exercise was whether or not a person's house was in good shape-not, for example, whether the area was conducive to jogging. "If somebody had a positive rating of the home," explains Keith, "then they were more likely to be physically active." She was "completely surprised" by the findings. Usually the emphasis is on getting people out of the house and to the gym. This data suggests that there may be plenty of exercise to be done inside-like housework. Next, researchers need to find out if it's a personality trait that makes the same people who keep a clean house more likely to be physically active, or if there's another explanation.

No matter, Keith applauds initiatives that turn chores into workouts, such as those featured at Squeezeitin.com , including "dish lifts" (stand on your tiptoes while unloading the dishwasher) and "laundry legs" (lunge from hamper to washing machine). Says Keith: "Every step counts."

Overlooked: A fat office worker sits at his desk. One in 10 managers has turned down a candidate because of their weight

Overweight people lose out in the workplace because employers assume they will be lazy, a study has revealed.

Very overweight workers earn less than other staff and are more likely to be bullied or overlooked for promotion, a survey of 2,000 people by Slimming World found.

In the poll of 200 bosses, a quarter of men said they would turn down a candidate purely on their weight and one in 10 admitted they had already done so.
The most overweight people were most likely to dread applying for a new job.

Jacquie Lavin, Slimming World's head of nutrition and research, said: 'You need confidence and support to achieve success in anything, whether it's losing weight or climbing the career ladder.

'It's unfortunate that only 16 per cent of people who are obese feel supported by their work colleagues in their efforts to lose weight and disappointing that one in four say they have suffered negative comments about their weight while at work.

'This survey provides one of the greatest indications yet of the scale of obesity discrimination in the workplace.'

No offense to anyone, but when I see an obese person, I think two things:

1. lazy
2. undisciplined

Dante, this is one of the worse comment i have heard you make in your time in forums.

Food isn't her problem, hope you are smarter than this
Standing at the Candy/chip machine buying at least 3 items... her hands are full with 2 bags of chips and she is looking for more.... I wanted so much to say something but did not

Would you say something? I am thinking I should not be wanting to say something as everyone has there right to do what they want, they want to die from diabetes that's there choice... but ,When you see people killing themselves its hard not to want to say something....

thoughts?
