why is this such a difference from ncaa football?

If he nailed ID he'd be used to the size of NFL tackles..

In the NFL you have much less emphasis on the running game, thus you have the FREE safety coming OVER THE TOP much more often because they are in maybe a nice NICKEL package. You would never employ something like this...say against a wishbone offense. This is as simple as I can explain this without getting to technical.
