I wasn't clear but I was referring to the fact that since I am not gambling for the first time in my adult life I have slowly but surely adapted to the non gambling lifestyle (i.e normal people).

One major factor of which is that I do not spend 15 hours a day on the weekends watching sports anymore and so as the weekends go by I do more and more until today I finally realised what can be done/accomplished with all this free time on the weekends, as illustrated by my list above.

Its a pity it took a bad run of luck, horrible money management, a drop in the real estate market that has never and IMO will never be seen be again and almost 20 years of my life for me to realise there is a whole other world out there.

Sorry if I sound like born again Christian but haven't posted in a while and felt like starting a thread.

Good luck with your wagers this weekend gents !

normal people dont gamble?

hate to tell you joey...but normal people ie gamblers have normal lives too

they shovel snow, fix light bulbs, take their dog out to walk, all that shit.

its a matter of ambition with getting stuff done...I do more before noon than most will do in 2 days

I am begining to understand this, and you are right.

But on any given Saturday I would go from the 7:45 am live soccer match on FSC to the Hawaii 2nd half over/under and everything in between and not miss one minute of the 'action'.

I don't know how to change the oil in my car, I have never owned a lawn mower, and don't even have a pair of pliars or a screwdriver. I'm basically helpless.

Joey, March Madness is coming up....

Ironically this was the begining of the end for me. I actually went 3-38 in one stretch starting somewhere in the middle of last years march madness.

I don't watch one minute of college basketball for a year but then all of a sudden I need action on every game during this two week period.

Viejo, when will you be in Thailand again?

I figure I can live in Thailand like a king on $100/day. I'm almost tempted to take $36,500 and stay there for a year until this financial mess boils over.

April 11th...and at 100 per day you can live better than the King, especially if you aren't into golf....

I think you can live pretty royally in that CR for $100 a day. Just move down next door to either VD, JudgeW or Willyheim and you're all set

Everybody's is different. Some move fast, some move slow and some can't function without doing somethingUnfortunately , i can't function without doing something all the time.I get up at 5:00 go to the office , get everything set up for the day, work the tickets, read the paper, drink some coffee. At 8:00 go home walk the dog's for an hour, go to the gym for an hour go back to work until about 2:30 take a break, go home ,check with the yardman and see what he is doing, blow the driveways off and then to the driving range for an hour. back to work until 7:30 thenback home eat, watch tv and then to bed. Have to stay busy all the time but i get a lot done believe me. Many years ago the feds trailed me for over three months trying to make a case and then when they thought they had my back to the wall and one of the agent's told the federal attorney that if i wasn't making a lot of money he wouldn't do what i did for anything because i was always moving or working. He asked me when i slept. Fortunately , they didn't make the case.

Joey,

In some ways I can follow what you are trying to say. With a pregnant wife expecting twins, I find myself becoming Mr. Mom with my 6-yr-old step-daughter who craves for attention as well as working all day & doing lot of stuff at home. I have much less time to spend in Excel and surfing for picks to bet on. While my money management is great, but in 2008, I have had to withdraw quite a bit for wedding and/or home budget.

I haven't made a bet in 3 or 4 weeks, and I still have money sitting in two books, doofus me.

But whale said it right-- it's finding the ambition (motivation) to do the work to make $$. It's the same whether it's the stock market, real estate, and/or sports betting. My motivation level has been extremely low, and that's the ONLY thing stopping me lately. Not because I'm *super busy*, nah.
