Ok, I have been reading post after post about Diamond Sportsbook and now I will give some real facts and opinions...

I was hired by Dino last September to work in the Marketing Department. He wanted a go getter with new ideas and to increase his post up business.

I was promised work reviews, raises and bonuses for work performed....

Work review...never had one until they put Robbie & Paul in charge.

Bonuses - had to split bonuses with fellow
workers who continually stole customers and half the bonus. I gave proof of approximately a dozen accounts to Stretch and he still made us split our bonuses with this thief.

Raises - NEVER received one until they put Robbie and Paul in charge.

Dino and Stretch continually put thumbs down on every idea we had to increase business with a feeble excuse for each one.

So we all sat for six months with nothing to do and read books and played computer games. Great way to run a business.

Then we had a meeting with Dino who promised us huge increases in our bonuses and suddenly he disappear from everyday life at DSI.

The next thing we knew they turned over marketing to Robbie and Paul and we were in total shock because Dino had previous, on many occasions, accused Robbie of stealing his customers for Vegas International.

Robbie & Paul had one on one meetings with all of us giving us their game play to increases business, promises of reviews and raises and a very fair excalating bonus structure.

We were obviously skeptical of being lie to again, held our breath, followed the game plan and proceed to increases business by 25% earning us the 4th and then 3rd level bonuses two months
in a row. We were give reviews and raises, had daily discussion on business proceedures and training and for the first time we were extremely happy with our jobs and enjoyed coming to work.
We talked to customers every day helping them and keeping them update with everything they needed and they were happy too!

Then the shit hit the fan when we found out that Robbie & Paul were paying us out of their pockets because Dino & Stretch couldn't agree on anything and refuses to keep there end of the bargain with them. They went to Europe for a meeting with Dino to get things straighten out and came back empty handed. I can guarantee you the NONE of you would continue with your job if you weren't getting paid.....so Robbie and Paul quit! Oh yea, DSI is claiming they fired them, but that is total bullshit! But I can assure you that both Robbie and Paul dug into their pockets one more time before they left and paid all the marketing and customer service people every dime that they were promised.

Since they left, Vegas Int'l customers were suppended from betting, and both slow paid and not paid with the claims that DSI didn't know who they were or what deals Robbie and Paul had with them. Great way to take over Vegas guys - piss off the players and make the honest guys look bad. Do you want to explain why the GPX customers are not getting paid on time or why GPX is holding out your money out on you?

Now you fire all but your favorite few kiss ass controllable employees and stiff us out the our severance pay by forcing us to sign it away in order to collect part of what is due by law.

Dino & Stretch - Are you going broke or were you just in shock when you realize how well Robbie and Paul can run a sportsbook the way a business should be run with happy customers and employees.
Did the percentage you owed them take your breath away when you realized that by running it properly you really could increase business by 25% a month. You made the money by Robbie & Paul's hard work and now you are losing your integrity and reputation because you are to cheap to pay the piper. And you call yourself great businessmen - NOT!

Thanks for sharing...as always there are at least TWO sides to every story.

It is disheartening to know that there are questionable individuals running Sports Books, particularly in Costa Rica...however, don't be surprised if your story here becomes attacted in an attempt to discredit, as there are those here who will unfortunately attempt.

Squirt, just want you to know that some of us realize what has gone down there. Robbie's side of the story is the antithesis of the picture painted by Stretch.

All I can do is wish you well and hope things work out for the best. Don't worry, this is all going to get exposed in due time.

Sounds like what happens everyday in the biz. Great ideas falling on deaf ears because it wasn't there own and they can't take full credit for it.

I was fired from my first job.

You see the manager had an after work drinking habit that his pay-check couldn't sponsor...monies from the register began to supplement...until he needed to explain the shortages to the company...that's when he volunteered me to be his fall-guy.

The company caught on a month later and that's when the manager lost all his drinking funds.

LESSON:

Being fired is NOT always a fault of your own.

I also recall when my Grandmother was fired...

...her duties of washing clothes in a couple of cast-iron tubs were replaced by her first automatic washing machine.

LESSON:

Some jobs are worth losing.

Side note: I believe the automatic washing machine sparked the beginning of the women's liberation movement.

Finally...

My friend was working at the Bellagio, hired 6-months after it opened. She was an excellent employee NEVER missing a day in the 3 plus years she worked (which is rare in the Casino/Hotel industry).

911 hit and she was laid-off.

She was devastated not believing they let her go over something she had nothing to do with...and she KNEW she was one of their BEST employees. Looking into her eye back then I saw total disbelief...she had done nothing wrong, and to the contrary, was an excellent employee but was NOW un-employed.

In an attempt to comfort her, I told her that it was the BEST thing that ever happened to her...but she didn't believe me. I went on to encouraged her to apply for a position with a new hotel/casino, which was scheduled to open within the next couple of months...while pleading with her to capture a few moments and enjoy some of the finer things she'd been missing while working all that time. Again, she NEVER missed work.

Within a couple of weeks, the PALMS began taking employment applications with interviews. She impressed them and was hired prior to their grand opening.

She enjoys her new employer much better, while the pay and benefits are the best she's ever had. She has received a few nice raises since starting and told me she got another $0.40 raise last week.

Needless to say, she’s delighted and does NOT miss her former Bellagio and MGM Grand Corporation supervisors…or any days of work…still!

Yes, things may seem grim at times, but they really can work out for the better.

LESSON:

Combine the two previously learned.

Side note: Life's too damn short to work it away for others...capture the moments and enjoy the breaks as they occur.
