I really love this kid, but I really don't think he'll be ROY. He'll be a great NBA player and have a fantastic overall career, but he's just not someone that will put up 20 points consistently, especially in his rookie year. He might even have the best overall play out of all the rookies this year because he is outstanding on defense, but unfortunately that doesn't mean anything when talking about the ROY award. That will go to either Mayo or Beasley as they'll put up 20 ppg. Mayo would be my pick right now to win the award.

He has great physical skills, but he is so far behind someone like Chris Paul at the same stage in their careers, it's not even close. He is struggling with his halfcourt offense leadership and decision making. Also, his shooting has been horrendous so far in camp. The Thunder will probably start Earl Watson at pt guard in the opener. In a game of shirts and skins at the rec hall Westbrook shines, but in a real NBA game he will struggle.

he's good
could be a better tony parker
kid is lightning, can dunk in people's faces, and play solid D.

if he gets the minutes he could get ROY
otherwise i see it going to "beastly" or oj

Quickness and leaping ability are great assets that can't be taught, but he must learn to "play" the game of basketball. As I constantly harp to my 11 year old grandson, "this isn't a video game."

Greg Oden will be the Rookie of the yr

I doubt it. He'd probably be the rookie I'd most rather have on my team, even over stars to be like Rose and Mayo, but I just don't see him putting up the kind of stats you need to win ROY. I see him likely being a 13 & 8 guy in his rookie season with a ton of other scoring options on that team. I think Mayo is the favorite right now with Beasley right after him because they're more likely to put up good stats. Rose and Oden imo are the two best rookies this year, but I can't see either winning ROY.

his skill set is outstanding
the only downside to westbrook is that he isn't a true point
everything else is solid though.
