I reported a bad line at BetJM and they said it wasn't a "bad line"

US Open 2nd round started around 9-10 am today. BetJM had their lines set for 1-2 pm. So players could have placed wagers after watching a few holes. So I called BetJM to tell them of this mistake.

Usually when I do this, they put a bonus in my account. This time there was no bonus. I called and asked why. They say that there is a “disclaimer” that allows them to cancel bets if it’s placed after the game starts, so my calling in the mistake could have been corrected. I didn't call in a bad line, they said. In other words, they’re saying: “Thanks for calling, but it wasn’t a big deal.”

No big deal?????

If I hadn’t called … they may never have figured out their mistake, but even if they had (a) they’ld put up the lines till 1:30 pm, (b) figure out that people are taking shots, and (c) then cancel plays … How will they decide who made a legit play and who took shots??? How are they going to figure when every golfer started play?

Then BetJM is going to have to cancel wagers. Imagine having to explain to a customer that he was one minutes late in placing a wager, and that the wager is cancelled.

It’s one thing to not give me a bonus but please don’t insult my intelligence by saying that you had a disclaimer that would have allowed you to cancel those plays. I helped save them HOURS of work and dozens of complaints with that phone call.

I don’t want a fuckin’ free-play from them. That is not what this post is about, so I hope they don’t insult me even more by putting a free-play in my account.

When someone calls to HELP you, show some appreciation ... because next time this happens, I will NOT call them .. and neither should anyone else.

Man, you are being overly sensitive over a little thing. Chill. I hate when people go slinging mud at good books over little things. Grow up dude.

Sounds like they don't give a shit. They'll just cancel all bets made after action started. Perhaps they have a computer program that will do this automatically.

Piss poor customer service.

I guess you have a point, Sumday ... it's just that I didn't expect this from BetJM.

I play their overpriced 20-30 cent lines out of sheer loyalty, knowing I can make the same plays at 5Dimes for far less... and when this shit happens, it just makes me wonder (a) why I have been loyal to them and (b) why I even bother calling in something to help them?

I erred ... but won't err again.

Years ago, basically the same thing happened to me .I can`t even remember which book it was but they were completely uninterested . I will never call a book again .

They don't know when "action started", quantum.

This isn't a baseball game ... this is about props on 30-40 golfers ... and they will never figure out when each player started.

For example, I saw Harrington hit his tee-shot on the first hole into a bunker. If I had placed a wager right there against Harrington, I could have had a 1-stroke advantage on my wager and they probably wouldn't have cancelled my wager.

I see your point. They weren't watching and keeping track of when each player started.

I am loyal only to my pocketbook. My only 2 criteria are playing at reliable books and betting the best line.

Watching and keeping track???? They had listed a 1:36 pm tee-time for a guy who was tee-ing off at 10:06 am.

Someone was asleep at the wheel.

I should have just shut-up and moved on ... after all, they said that my calling wasn't a big deal.

In their defense, it is probably Scotty who usually puts something in your account, if there is a bad line, or a situation like this.....and i know for a fact that he is away this weekend, cuz i tried to call him yesterday about something and was informed that he would not be back to Monday.....

Herman is probably not in yet, or he might have taken care of it for ya......

I see your aggravation if it appeared that they didnt care, but i would summize this is the "exception" for Betjm, and not the rule....their CS is usuallly top notch..

I do NOT want anything now, Bucs. I won't beg for a free-play.

I think the guy who fell asleep at the wheel wants to convince people that this was not a big deal. That is why he needed to tell me that. Putting something in my account would have amounted to acknowledging the mistake and it was a HUGE mistake.

How many legit bets would they have to cancel?

Shot-takers wouldnt mind a voided bet but how many people may have made a play without knowing players had teed off? They would be pissed for getting a voided bet because they were 2 or 4 minutes late?

Then, BetJM would have had a bitch of a time figuring out when exactly players teed off.

Do you have Scottie's email, Bucs?

I want to tell him what happened so the people who fuckt up can't trivialize it when they tell him about it on Monday.

on any given day with any given business you can get a clerk that is not up to par and may make a bad decision or may be in a bad mood, it doesnt mean that the company is bad.

If on the other hand it is repeated time and time again, that is another story. Usually if i am not connecting with the clerk that I am doing business with, regardless of who i am calling wether it be a sportsbook or a cell phone company, I simply make an excuse to hang up such as "someone is at the door I gotta go" and i call back.

They do get a little snotty at times but they are okay 98% of the time. I admire your loyalty though. Anyways, take care.

Thanks, Kidslick ... I guess I will.

I was just pissed yesterday. What pissed me off was the assertion that they have a disclaimer that allows them to void bets. That's if they had caught it and if they had been able to figure out the tee time for 30-40 golfers.

Like I said above, I guess people were scrambling to cover up and minimize the situation ... and to do that, they had to tell me that it wasn't a big deal ... and they had to tell Scotty that it wasn't a big deal.

Not BetJM's fault ... just someone being asleep at the wheel, so when I woke him up, he is claiming that he wasn't really asleep.

Cincy, Herman sent me an email asking that you call him today, or any "manager"....

there was not a manager on duty on Saturday, until 1 pm, and that is why it happened like it did....the reg clerks dont have the authority to reward anyone....he re-asserted what i said above, that they always want to reward anyone who points stuff like this out, and it was just the "timing" of your call.....

you can contact him at hermanp@betjm.com or just call and ask for a manager, and you'll be taken care of...

they do appreciate posters pointing errors out very much
