To see what all the hype was about, I tuned in tonight, just as they performed the medley of Burt Bacharach songs. It was sensational and I was floored. The music flowed through me and even brought a tear to my eye. They even had Burt himself playing piano. I've always loved his songs ever since I was a child and Cilla Black made a hit with "Alfie" (although a very young Cher sang it on the origional movie soundtrack). His songs are some of the most beautiful ever written and they will be played hundreds of years from now. He's a musical genious and a true American icon...100% class act.

I never watch either but I did some of it tonight, wasn't bad but nothing I fell in love with. I will say that Mc girl has a great ass, can't believe she lost to the gray-haired dude.

I bet you Prince was happy to be on. AI is a publicity machine. You get 30 million people watching every week. Whenever there was a guest performer on this season (Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart, Shakira, etc) their album sales doubled or tripled the following week.

the power of AI

No doubt, and sang like that too. She even had to deal with Fat Boy singing way out of tune and she sounded great.

Definitely looks better in all black tonight than that hip hugger outfit that made her look like an oompa loompa last night.

Same here, don't care for the show at all. The guy is making money insulting young people that want to start a career.

everyone respects simon the most.

you have these terrible singers, thinking they can actually sing and have a music career and he helps them by putting them in their place. he tells them what they need to hear, not what they want to hear. he tells the truth, and thats why he is the most respected and suprisingly most liked judge.

It's hard for me to believe that everyone respects the guy.

Obviously, the word everyone is misused, but the point is exactly right. He is the only one that is honest AND knows what he is talking about. Jackson knows what he is talking about but is too easy.
