Not every virus/trojans can be remove cleanly or detected easily. If you do
alot of online transactions, I do advice you to spend some dough on a good Firewall.
Even when your pc is infected by trojans, the hacker cannot connect to
your pc. As good firewall listen to all ports and servers trying to make
connection to your pc.. some top notch ones will even prompt you for actions
to be taken everytime incoming computer is trying to establish connection.
Keyloggers are the most dreadful stuff.. they log username/password and
auto send to the hacker.

Prevention is better than cure. :digit:

Yep. Can't stress a good firewall enough. My friend has set up my computer to be as stealth as possible.

Use Firefox for a browser. Have ZoneAlarm pro for a firewall. Symantec Antivirus 9.0 for viruses. For spyware, I run Ad-aware SE professional, Spy Sweeper and Microsoft's new anti-spyware. (He also just put in a program called "Hijack this".)

Also run "Tune up utilites" every once in a while to keep everthing running smooth. It cleans and optimizes the computer.
