How many miles do you plan to drive?

I wouldn't take over a lease, but to ask, how many miles and months are left on it?

these leases trading sites cover that well..

Very few miles. 500-700 would be my best guess per month

why 3 months only ?

With traveling, we went down to one car and honestly it's almost never been an issue

But we're going back home for the summer and there Im constantly on the go meeting up with friends, golf, poker, ect... i didn't have a car for 1 week there last time, and lost my mind.

I was thinking about getting a sports bike, but wife is rather unhappy with that idea... Still feels like the smartest financial option. that way it's always there when I'm home... although I'd have a feeling I'd want to travel with it lol...

anyone that suggest moped is banned.

Find a $2-3k beater. Use it for 3 months and sell it for what you paid for it. That's what I would do. Plus that is the perfect time to sell a beater as people buy their teenagers cars to go back to school. Win-Win. Actually have one to sell. Only 80k miles, so not really a beater, just 12 years old, great shape, and happens to be in the price range. New tires this week, and some kid will be very happy.

Ole girl wants and deserves a new car, so guess it's back to the first car payment I've had in over 8 years.

Id just hate to be stuck with it. I had to sell both of our cars last year and that was a much bigger, harder, more time consuming job than I would have ever expected.

I sold both my cars the first day on craigslist for the price I wanted.

Hell I had a 16ft box truck that I thought I would never sell that sold within 2 weeks. Drove and made good money for a year in it, and still sold for more than I paid for it.

hmmm. wow.

I sold both of our cars well under book, my car was evenutally bought by a dealership even though i had 10+ people test drive it

my wifes car was the deal of the century and had more than 5+ people look at it... took almost a month for each one

I also sold washer&dryer and a pool table the first weekend on craigslist.

I wouldn't worry about getting stuck with it at all. I've sold 6 total on craigslist for myself and friends, and I'm seriously thinking of buying and selling more. Like stated, perfect time for peeps looking for cheap cars for teenagers.

Call me crazy, but the truck I have now, I chanced and bought on ebay from Pa, and had it shipped to me for $500. I got it for $3k cheaper than I could find here (shipping included), and I've now driven for 2 years next month without putting a dime in it. As soon as I solidify FT employment again, I will sell this one too and make a profit (even if I sell for what I paid), or I say I will, as I miss my fancy put your head in the seat rocket ship of a car, but I don't miss the payment or the high ass insurance...

Go to hertz and sign up for the month to month, I did this for over a year and did not have to worry about selling a car, If I had buy/lease, I would have had to come up with deposit etc, also I changed vehicles over three times during that period, my neighbors were wondering how I was driving new cars and changing so often, lol

i'd be livid if I bought one of these cheap cars and then something happens and I'd have to put money into it....

I don't trust older cars at all...

Made better than the new ones, but I understand. that's why a beater is a beater. Pay $1500. Something major goes wrong, you scrap for $400-$600 (paying over $13 per 100 lbs on cars here right now), and no big deal IMO. If a $1500 car last the 3 months, you got your moneys worth already.

You said you wanted a car, are you trying to book a high price SUV, a car should not cost no more that $500+

Buy a used car for under book value. Drive it for the 3 months, then total it.

They will pay you retail for it.

Or, get a moped
