I hear a lot of conspiracy theories going around about these final 4 matchups. Personally I think they are all a bunch of nonsense. The committee is probably going to drop OU to number 4. Not because it sets up a final against this or that team, but because OU is the one team that didn't play yesterday for their conference championship. And they have one loss like everybody else. It would make sense to put Clemson at #1 since they are the one undefeated team. But they also play in the weakest conference. So the committee may take that into account and put Bama number one. To me, that is the biggest question concerning the final rankings.. But if everyone keeps insisting this is a conspiracy theory just remember that there are 4 representatives from the Big 10 and 3 from the SEC on the committee. It would seem that it would be against their best interests to play each other in the semifinal and not the final game. Personally I don't think it really matters that much. These look like 4 fairly evenly matched teams. They all have their weaknesses. It would probably serve Bama better to play OU first. It would be easier for Saban to prepare 30 days for OU's offense than a quick turnaround of a week to play them in the second game. You also have the Bama revenge factor. OU has beaten Bama the last 3 times they have played them. With the most recent being their Sugar Bowl loss. I really think the toughest matchup for OU would be Clemson. Mike Stoops is much better at defending the slow methodical offenses like Bama and Michigan St than he is the wide open offenses with a mobile QB like Watson..
