Hall of Fame announcer Sam McKee, 54, dies ,Harnessracing.com is reporting that Communicators Hall of Famer Sam McKee, one of the most well-known and respected announcers in horse racing, died Tuesday night (March 7), as a result of complications after suffering a major stroke early last month. He was 54. He was my friend of 30 years,real good guy,great family man,R.I.P.

I'm a harness fan, and have owned harness horses since 1997. Never met the man, but he and Ken Middleton are the best 2 announcers I have heard. Sam had that rare ability to call a race for 10 claimers with the same enthusiasm as the Hambo.

Far too young, RIP.

unfortunately horse racing--especially harness racing--is falling off the map. By all accounts, Sam was a great guy. Was a runner, yet suffered a stroke. RIP Sam McKee.
