I think Seattle absolutely rolls Carolina. Something to be said for east coast teams playing west coast teams at night (out west of course).

Body clock is off. Great stat I remember fading these east coast teams...but can't find it now. But they are terrible ATS. I thought I remember it being close to 70% playing the west coast teams covering .. Anyone have that stat??? Roll tide??? computer group?? you guys find all those funky stats...

not so sure it matters in the playoffs as it does in the regular season and carolina is not as far east as they base it on i believe, now i may be wrong on that but they mainly look at ny teams, philly teams,pitt,cincy,wash,etc,..but should not make a big deal in the playoffs,..jmo

so not late games ... because the Sea game is like 5:30 pm PDT

because I see a 4:30pm game back in 2013, Ravens beat the Broncos in OT

I'm looking at Playoffs though

found this article from 2012... FWIW....copied a part of it....

OK: Stay awake. In his book about sleep, Dreamland, author David Randall reports on a football study at Stanford. Now what we know is that, typically, human energy flags during the day — but, for some primordial reason, picks up again around 6 p.m. By 10, though, the sandman has started his siren song.
Now, a few times each NFL season, an Eastern team plays a Western team in a night game. For television reasons, all the games start around 8:30 p.m., Eastern Time.
That means for an East Coast home game, the West Coast players still have their body clocks set at 5:30 — ready to perk up, as the Eastern boys will soon run down. If the West Coast team is home, same thing: It's 5:30 for the Pacific boys, but the Atlantic guys' body clocks say it's 8:30.
Follow me? It doesn't matter where the game is played. The West Coast bodies are coming to life as the East Coast bodies are feeling nature's circadian cues to sleep.
And guess what the researchers found? Over a quarter-century span, the West Coast teams beat the East an amazing 70 percent of the time against the spread. Hello! Seventy percent!

Just something to consider.... that's all..Seahawks just have too much for Carolina to defend, and Seahawks have the defense to shut panthers down...Cam too many mistakes... Seattle will make him pay...

i can query any of this stuff. the one big one i play all year (though few fit) is playing against away team in east that won in pacific time zone previous week if their opponent played in eastern time zone last week. those teams are 17-43-3 ATS

so what u want queried? just east vs west away or east vs west off a bye week?

what you see is a team that played east coast game last week and now playing west coast game in the evening without any bye week in between. i cannot designate where a team's home time zone is without inputting each eastern time zone team into a query, so it will pull up things like SF winning away in the east then playing in evening at seattle the following week.

does that mean the east coast team is 8-30 ATS when getting 10 points?? not sure how to read this... and I don't get SF @ Seattle... as they are both west coast teams... am I missing something??

or is the east coast team 14-26 ATS overall with this scenario?

it's not an "East Coast Team" ... it's a team that played in eastern time zone last week.

last year the 49ers played carolina in the playoffs, in carolina, then the following week had a late game in seattle so they fit this scenario. sure, probably 80-90% of the teams that are in the 14-26 ATS are actually based in eastern time zone but you cannot query on their home time zone without inputting specific team names.

what you see is what you are asking for....a team that just played in east, has no extra rest, and is now playing a late game the following week. if you want to omit any team that has their home in pacific time zone that is easy enough. one sec

yes -/+6 and -/+10 are for 6 and 10 point teasers. SU, ATS, and O/U are what you want to look at

since the query is based on the east coast team, yes, the 12 in "12-19 ATS" would be the record of the east coast team in that situation

Dog, you've made up your mind on Seattle no matter what anyone posts, just like I've made up my mind on playing Carolina.........

There's no doubt in my mind that Seattle doesn't win, I see a Seattle 20-13 win......if Seattle blows them out,so be it, iI just think Carolinas defense is clicking & will do well.

Good luck on your plays.......
