I was playing in a $45 NL tourney with around 35 people.

We get down to the fina 7 and this fucking idiot goes all in with his final $2,400. I have around $3,500 so I call and so did the big blind. Here's what happened.

My hand AJ
Idiot's hand 3-4
Other guy's hand J whatever because he didn't show

Flop: 5-8-J (I push all in and the big blind folds his top pair)
Turn: 2
River: 6

After this moment I didn't give a shit about anything else with only $1,000 left and went all in and lost. I left and the guy was asking people why a guy takes a game so seriously. Keep in mind I didn't say anything but it was visually obvious I was furious.

Who the fuck plays 2.5 hours and then puts his tournament on the line with 3-4? I've never been kicked in the nuts so hard and oh by the way the reason I get so pissed is because it was a $500 payout for 1st and had I won the hand I would've nearly in the chip lead.

FUCK.

I feel your frustration and have had similar things happen to me 100's of times. But I gotta ask why people get mad when idiots push with hands like 3-4. Sure it got lucky and won this time, but these are the people you win money off of in the long run. Would you rather everyone be a solid player and its harder to win???

Because I'm fucking playing for money that's why. I'll never see this guy again so don't care about winning shit off of him in the future because this was a tournament. And if I'm playing for money and enter into a tournament I have the right to get agitated at a total jack ass. Don't even tell me for one second you don't get agitated over a very bad beat like this. Maybe you were the guy that played this ass hand and ran up to your room to post what a great play it was.

ell let me tell Ya a beat on put on 2 people in a cash game. LOL

I'm 2 before the button, Been playing great and was up real good. I look down and lead out for 20. fold, fold, sb bets all in about 75, BB goes all in about 80-85. Gets to me I think for a minute...... I look again have 5-6o. So it will cost me about 65 to win about 185. I say to them I bet I have 2 live cards. I just had a feeling they might have a big A. I call they flip it over and show A,K for both of them. I show 5,6 and I say I like my chances. Didn't have to wait long the flop came 5,5,10 LOL Send it. They both got upset and left. It was great I showed the table that I was loose and I won the pot.

After that people would call me down and I would have the goods. It worked out great. Played that night all the way till about 4am and won over 1200

Terps, sorry for my anger partner, I was pretty angry so I apologize.

For all of you that tell me this isn't a bad beat you are absolute idiots who don't play that much poker. That's really all I can say.

You fail to realize he didn't go all in and we both were all in pre flop but there was another caller and I actually flopped top pair with an A kicker. At this point the guy needs two cards to beat me but 3-4 for all in? WTF?

Let me ask you this, wtf were you doing risking 3/4 your stack on A,J when guy in front goes all in and you still have a guy behind???

Sure you got hosed but I would have never been in there in the first place. A,J you gotta figure you racing or behind. Fine if your stack is huge but not the case. Niger Plz.

Because the guy had been playing crap all final table and guess what I read him right and when I pushed after the flop the other dude folded.

Please don't make excuses for this guy's horrible play. One guy all in for his tournament life with only one guy behind me I think an AJ is a pretty solid hand at that point. The dude who played the ass hand only had one more time around the table before the blinds would've crippled him.

Your original post clearly said the 3 4 was all in pre-flop and then you called.

And WTF does this mean "You fail to realize he didn't go all in and we both were all in pre flop"

WTF are you trying to say.

Player ass goes all in pre flop with $2,400 and I call. Player 3 just calls and the flop comes out with a J and I immediately go all in and player 3 folds. All I'm trying to say is two of the three of us were not all in pre flop.

Guys, if you clearly can't understand why I'd be frustrated I should just stop now. Who goes all in pre flop with 7 people left to go in a tournament with a 3 and a 4?

All I'm saying is after the flop this guy needs two fucking cards in the deck to beat me and he got them both. That is almost unreal.

If you cant understand why he did that you dont understand poker.
Its that simple. There are times in a tourney if you pay attention to whats going on where its smart to make a big raise blindly no matter what is in your hand.
This was the case for this guy. He did not make the raise in hopes of getting lucky, he did it to induce a fold. once you called him(very questionable) he had 2 live cards.

this is not a bad beat. There is even a chance that it was smart poker if he made the raise for the right reasons.

There are times when actions are required regardless of whats in your hand.

You guys amaze me. You guys would risk your tourney on a 3-4 huh? I wish you the best if your explanation to me is he had two live cards. He made a great play didn't he? I made a good call and the guy had ass and he sucked out with the most amazing runner runner ever and I'm the fool huh?

Boss,

You have a right to be upset - but it wasn't a bad beat.

Even though you said he was allin, then said he wasn't and then
confirmed he was.

Like I said - he got all his chips in against you with two live cards,
and fold equity. Far from a bad beat.

Dude,

The HUGE point that you are missing is that when his money went in,
he had 36% chance of winning the pot against you. AND, that's not
counting the fold equity he had (the chance that you might lay down
your hand against his all-in).

You act like it was a runner, runner - but it was only a runner
runner AFTER you hit your J on the flop, but at that point the
money was all-in.

Bottom line,

You made a good call - but > 1/3 of the time in that situation,
you lose your stack to the 34.
