The following is an email I received this morning.............

I am contacting you on a business transfer of a huge sum of money from a deceased account. Though I now that a transaction of this magnitude will make any one apprehensive and worried, but I am assuring you that all will be well at the end of the day. We decided to contact you due to the urgency of this transaction.

PROPOSITION:

We discovered an abandoned sum of US$7,500,000.00 (Seven million five hundred thousand United States dollars) in an account that belongs to one of our foreign customers who died along with his entire family. Since his death, none of his next-of-kin or relations has come forward to lay claims for this money as the heir. We cannot release the funds from his account unless someone applies for claim as the next-of-kin to the deceased as indicated in our banking guidelines. Upon this discovery, we now seek your permission to have you stand as a next-of-kin to the deceased as all documentations will be carefully worked out by us for the funds (US$7,500,000.00) to be released in your favour as the beneficiary's next-of-kin. It may interest you to know that we have
secured from the probate an order of madamus to locate any of deceased beneficiaries.

Please acknowledge receipt of this message in acceptance of our mutual business endeavour by furnishing me with the following;

1. Name and address (to be used as the Beneficiary)
2. Direct Telephone and fax numbers (to contact you)

These requirements will enable us file a letter of claim to the appropriate departments for necessary approvals in your favour
before the transfer can be made. We shall be compensating you with ONE MILLION DOLLARS on final conclusion of this project, while THE REST shall be for us for investment purposes. If this proposal is acceptable by you, do not take undue advantage of the trust we have bestowed on you.

I await your urgent response.

Regards,

Mr. T.S.

One million only? I would hold out for 50 per cent, or 3.5 million. Use your head.

These guys are talking about millions of dollars. You'd think they'd check the spelling of "now" and "know". Hard to take them seriously when they can't even spell (among other things).

Send them a reply, tell them you want 50%. Hopefully they'll write back, then you can post it here!

I received something like that from Africa, I think it was Nigeria. Definately a scam - they will ask for funds from you to cover the "handling" expenses. The Nigerians have lots of scams going on in the U.S.

Tell them to meet you at a corner grocery. Bring five of your biggest thug friends and make sure they are packing heat. Tell him you only want half of the 7 million and you will give him all the information he wants including your wife if he pleases.He's not showing up. These e mails prey on the elderly and idiots of the world.
