:howdy:Hello my friends...
I work from out of my home office, henceforth, I have the ability of listening to sports talk radio on a daily basis, personally I like to listen to talk radio as a means of picking up on late happening events as well as getting a feel for what the general public thinks about this game or that game...
One of the most vanilla sports talk radio shows that I listen to from time to time is the Mike & Mike show on ESPN...
We all know that talk show hosts say the most asinine things from time to time as a means of generating hyperbole and interest in what they are espousing...
...I couldn't believe my ears this morning when I heard "Greenie" say that Eagle QB Donovan McNabb was on track for a first round ballot into the Pro Football's Hall of Fame, as a means of attempting to justify this statement "Greenie" then went on to compare McNabb's career with Troy Aikman and Steve Youngs' career...
Ahhhhhhh excuse me but...how in the Sam Hell can you with a straight face include McNabbs' name in the same sentence as either Aikman or Young?
Aikman finished his career with THREE Super Bowl wins and in the 1990's won 90 of 94 career starts which is the most wins in any decade by any QB EVER...
Steve Young started his career in the USFL and thusly lost two years of career stats, Young then entered the NFL with the Tampa Bucs who were TERRIBLE then where he wasted away for another two years...
...San Francisco saved Steve Young from Tampa Bay purgotory when they traded for him with the idea of having him back up Joe Montana, which he did for another 3 years of his career.
Add up the wasted years and you would see that Steve Young essentially had SEVEN wasted years before he got to be a starter, however, when he became the man...he DEFINATELY became the man...
...Steve Young won SIX total NFL passing titles, finished his career with an unheard of career QB rating of 96.8, won a Super Bowl in which he set a record with SIX touchdown passes in a 49-26 drubbing of the San Diego Chargers and was voted a Super Bowl MVP.
So I ask again...How in the Sam Hell can ANYONE even think about saying that McNabb is in any way comparable to either Troy Aikman or Steve Young??
Take care and be well my friends
