What's wrong with only betting 5$? Some people don't take it as serious and would like to have an interest in the game and don't have a ton of money to gamble with.

And why do you have no business gambling if you only can bet 5$ a game? Some people prefer to spend money on other things and don't want to allocate all their money to gambling. I bet 10$ a game and just follow people on the site and have a good time doing it. I have a decent chunk of money saved up but just don't think betting is the best use of my money.

There's nothing wrong with it. I'm not a big bettor either I have put $5 on a prop bet or something for the hell of it.

But it seems strange to me to do that in person. Like, you're gonna wait in line, put in a $5 bet, wait 2 hours, so you can hopefully win 3 bucks?

Whats the difference in that vs betting $5 on a hand of black jack?
You bet $5.00 on a hand of blackjack about 100 times at a sitting. There aren't anywhere near as many baseball games to play in that amount of time.

If u gonna bet then bet.......Otherwise, you are wasting your time........Life is short.........Better to bet bigger and in spots in my opinion then betting smaller just wasting time getting more and more addicted to the action which is the goal of any casino or sportsbook cause once they do that then you are ruled by emotions more....Furthermore, don't get married to any sport or season and if u play all different sports year-round then you can jump in and jump out anytime you want whenever you want on your time, not theirs.......Sure, I cleaned up on the Belmont with the Palace Malice exacta with Oxbow, but I didn't really play for months after that....

I agree about I wouldn't bother if it was $5.00 but maybe he was tired, wanted to sit and watch a game and put a couple bucks on it just to have some sort of interest. He could also have done it to get a free drink or 2 in the sportsbook (due to the fact he had a ticket).

betting $5 does seem a bit trivial.. but maybe he just likes the action to chill back to a game.. like buying a movie ticket and he really isnt a big bettor overall. I know plenty of people who would spend 100s on slot machines playing for hrs on end at 25cents - $1 per spin, but they would never bet $5 a hand in bj let alone $25 a hand for a short period.

Yep. I went to Vegas in college during march madness and my buddies would bet tiny amounts so they could sit in the sportsbook and have a few beers and watch the games. They really had no idea about how or what to bet and really didnt care.

On another trip, I saw a lady step up to a blackjack table and pull 17 dollars in wrinkled bills out of her pocket along with a picture of a couple kids. She rubbed the photo as she burned through the money in 5 hands or so. Her face was totally defeated and she walked away from the table. I saw her a couple hours later begging on the strip. Horribly sad.

Yup, if that's the case you just bet both sides of the game and sit there and drink all day and for free don't lose, Buts that's not what this guy did. It was early in the morning, the place was empty, he made the bet and left. They didn't give him a drink coupon for that bet. Living here I see everything, but that was more extreme then usual. He would have been better off begging for the 3 bucks if that's what he wanted, he could have probably gotten it in 2 mins from somebody and would have still had the original 5 on him.

When I first started betting I'd get nervous with $25 on a game. Now if I have $500 on a game and win or lose I feel nothing. Also, whenever my friends and family talks about sports I just laugh. I can't even root for teams anymore because I wouldn't want my bias to effect my picks. Couldn't personally bet $5 a game, but to each his own.

I don't bet $5 but many times I bet $10 on a college game or boxing match only on a long shot. I had $10 on Josesito Lopez at +700 when he beat Victor Ortiz & jumped up & down when he broke Ortiz jaw. $10 bets are fun on a longshot especially when you are watching the event.
