that people will get VERY angry if you "beat them" with a semi decent hand....

I have seen players get mad at other players and ask them 'How can you stay in on a flush draw after I raise" and call them a terrible player.

IMO here these people are SORE losers and they are mad because a BETTER player won. Anyone experience this at all? and what are your thoughts

thanks in advance

No way Dante. Poker players love to lose.

Takes a sore loser to know one too

There are many bad players that stay in way too long (according to generally accepted practices) and occasionally fill out a flush or inside straight on the river. This happens more often at the smaller ($5 to $10 buy-in to get $800-1000 in chips) tables where people often are willing to take a big risk because the most they can lose is $5 or $10.

That being said, getting outdrawn when the odds are in your favor is part of the brutal game and the arses that get mad should play at higher stake tables where it doesn't happen as often.

Also, good players often 'drop down' into smaller tables and try to fleece money out of less experienced players, so again they deserve what they get. (I had one guy actually brag about it, when I noted that he was obviously quite an experienced player for a $5 table. 'Just down here to build up my bankroll for higher stakes games.' He had some colorful words for me when I knocked him out). You have to be pretty thick-skinned sometimes. Or just turn off the 'chat' feature.

Dante-

Bad beats happen in poker and poker players will ALWAYS complain about them. Hell, even I do it but only rarely. The point the "better" player is trying to make is that if the "bad" player knew the odds of him making his hand he would never have played if he expected to win. IMHO, if there were not worse players than me at the table it is likely I would not play the game so I usually shut the hell up AND advise others to do the same.

In the last year or so I've stopped playing at the Taj in Atlantic City and moved to the Borgata for poker action. I would say that 90%+ of the time I play, there is an arguement between players about bad beats. In fact, I was playing 10-20 and some guy sits down with $3500+ in chips (few blacks (100) mostly green (25) and red (5))...most of us snickered and looked at each other. (no one should EVER need that many chips for a session of 10/20). He proceeded to lose a ton (although he won a few huge pots) by playing every hand til the river and frequently raising/capping.

Anyway, he sucked out on someone who proceeded to bitch. When the guy finished his session he put what was left of his $3500 in racks and goes apesh**t on the guy who complained. Literally, he was yelling and cursing and told the "little turd" that he would "rearrange his face." Over the web, the internet tough guys can hide behind a moniker so they probably complain a little more but not much more than B&M players.

Your best answer to them is this,

"had you bet high enough enough for me to fold, then you woudl have won the hand!"

That being said, I will ALWAYS stay in any hand if the raises are not high enough. Reason being is that you can win some MONSTER pots with a weird straight. Flushes wont pay you as much usually, but that low 3-7 straight will get you usually around 3 times the pot ESP if an ace or king hits the board.

In bad beats, I dont mad at anyone but myself, I should have bet higher to fold them.

By the way, also on the net, you can learn the "cycle" of cards to some degree. I ALWAYS stay in suited connectors or any type of flush. You can almost bank on that flush hitting if you see 2 of your cards on the flop. Of course you could lose to a 4 card board flush, but you can pick up some monster pots by playing the bad hands if the people dont bet enough to fold you

If you get tired of the "noise" most internet pokerhalls have an option where you can disable the chat.
