Another cash money winner for 5k on the Atlanta Braves +124 this afternoon and now the real cash money is starting to flow. My 5k wagers are on absolute fire as it all started with Newcastle United +105, then came Washington Capitals +139 in Game 5, then was my huge wager on the Phillies last night, the Braves this afternoon and here we are now with another big one.
I know it's not all that wise to keep pounding away with the 5k's because eventually I will lose but I am feeling it right now so why the hell not. The only shot the Angels had at winning a game in this series was with Jered Weaver on the mound and that chance came last night. The Angels had the win but the bullpen sucked ass and I just don't see how things would get any better tonight. Way too much hype for a 30 year old pitcher Mike Palmer who is 3-0 this season with an ERA of 3.06. I mean the guy has been solid but how quickly everyone forgets that there is a reason he was not in the majors before this, he has made only 6 career starts and in 2008 he made 3 starts, had an ERA of 8.53 and opposing hitters nailed him for a .333 batting average. On that note alone my wager tonight is on:
Boston Red Sox ML -108
We all know the Angels are not the same team they used to be and that is a proven fact. Once Palmer gets rocked early I expect Wakefield to go into cruise control. He is 2-1 on the road in four starts this season, he has an ERA of 3.33 in those games with a WHIP of 1.15 and opposing hitters have hit only .182 off of him.
This is Wakefield's second time pitching in Los Angeles this season as he opened the season here in a 6-3 loss but let me tell you right now that the only reason he lost was because the BoSox managed only 3 runs against Jered Weaver (we go back to the Weaver thing here where the Angels will only win if he is on the mound) and Mike Palmer is a torch waiting to be lit. Since that season opening start, the Bosox have won all three of Wakefield's starts (in Oakland, Tampa and Cleveland) and he has given his offense a chance to win. They won't need much of a chance tonight but still.
Vladdy is out for the Angels and you don't need to know much more than that. Their offense sucks and if any of their pitchers get lit up...they have no chance of winning. In his last three starts the Bosox offense has supported Wakefield with 8.7 runs of offense and again Palmer is a lifetime minor league who is only here until this team can find something better to do with their pitchers.
Wakefield and the Sox have always struggled to win against the Angels on the road when he pitches but all that is about to change. This is the worst Los Angeles team I have seen in maybe 6-7 years and they just don't have the hitting and the pitching combination they had become so well known for over that period of time. What a complete joke this line...im pounding away on this shit for 5k!
