simply click on the blue box where the offers are located. (this is on the left).

after you click, you will see on the right side a box pop up. Adjust the juice and the dollar amount you want. Click submit, and if it looks ok, the click OK.

Once you click ok, you will see your offer will pop up in 2 places. One is in blue on the left where someone else can except your offer. The other place is on the right, where you can adjust your offer if you want to.

remeber if you want Indy at +105, that means someone has to be willing to take the Ravens at -105. So when you put in an offer, it will show(in the blue on the left) as just the opposite of what you want.

mess around with 1 dollar offers, until you get the feel.

I love how nobody discusses commission fees ever when discussing what price is available or what price one got. Very comical to me, that misrepresentation that seems to always happen in threads involving matchbook.

Hi Chop---
I am by no means a dummie but am intimidated by Matchbook's setup for live betting.

Pinny had a very easy to use interface for live betting. I did check out the directions at Matchbook and still am purplexed at how it all works.

I do not want to test this live betting method with Matchbook with real funds. Is there a way to explain this feature of live betting at Matchbook to me in simple terms?

Thanx in advance for any help you can render to me.

Abolutely! Even now, I always submit my offer with just $1, and then after I make sure it's what I wanted, I up it. Only adds a few seconds. Problem is that there's no confirmation step when you make an offer like there is when you accept one, and if you enter it wrong, it can automatically fill it based on what's already out there. Yes, I'm speaking from experience. Doh! :ohno:

well if you are a 50% win loss bettor on average you pay 1% on every bet you make. Or 2% on the bets that win, how ever you want to look at it.

so yes there is a commish.

so if Matchbook has -101 on a game and you plave a bet and win, it's really -103.

Just so we are all on the same page this "misreprentation", amounts to this.

If you place 2 $5000.00 bets, and you split.

On the bet that losses, you pay nothing in commish, on the bet that wins, you would pay 50 dollars, so if you average it out, each $5000.00 bet will cost you 25 dollars as a handling fee from matchbook.

hmmmmmmm

25 dollars to place a $5000.00 bet.

Now factor in that if you shop around at matchbook, you will see a vig number such as this they have RIGHT NOW. Ravens are at +103 vig.

So if you bet $5000.00 at +103 you wold win $5150, you would then give matchbook 2%, which is 103 dollars, so your net would be $5047.

So on a $5000 bet you would win after commish, $5047.00.

Anyone have a problem with that?

BTW Philly bettors can get +107 right now.

Things that took me a while to learn on my own when I first started at Matchbook that will help new players there:

1. Next to each matchup....say you go to all NFL games and see the Baltimore vs Indy game....next to the team names there is the word "more" you can click on that to get all the different lines for that game. Sometimes the line on the main NFL page could be, say "5" and the line moves to 4.5 and on the main page they move move the number to 4.5 also and your bids at 5 aren't on the main page anymore.....but if you go to "more" you will see it there.

2. During live betting you can use the "pause" button to put your bet on hold, then hit it again to un freeze(unhold). That way you don't have to keep resubmitting the bets in. You can also readjust the lines while they are paused before unfreezing.

Matchbook is great, I love them.

when live betting, make sure your tv feed is as close to the REAL game time as possible.

many times, I'll have a tv feed from 2-3 sources on the same game.

they will be 3-4 secs apart.

that is huge when you have a turnover or long play.

Thats a biggie.

Thats the one thing that sucks about live betting.

I just bought a brand new HDTV 2 weeks ago, and until I lock in my profit for the game, I have to watch the games in SD, because digital signal for some reason has a 3 or 4 second delay.

I have been wondering if someone at the game with a cell phone cold tell you via the phone what happened faster then you could see it on tv.

If the diff between 2 tv signals can be 5 secs, how much fatser would a phone be? 5 more secs?

Give me a 10 sec edge in LIVE betting, and I'll clean up.

Yup, have 3 TV's being watched at one time and that is the case.

The TV hooked up to DIGITAL CABLE is delayed 3+ seconds.

I would suggest for the first 2 or 3 weeks that you do it, to just accept offers until you get comfortable with how it works. When I first started, all I did was accept offers.

If a game is say -3 -105 at kickoff, the juice will adjust according to how the game is being played. You will not see a change in the spread like you do at PINNY, over here at Matchbook the major change is in the juice.

Its great for locking in profits.

Its as simple as pinny really. Start off with a few small plays, you will get the hang of it quickly.

SD on antenna or cable is real time.

The reason I know this is simple.

I go to alot of Saints games live in NO, and I bring my radio and listen to the radio broadcast in my headset while im at the dome, and the play by play on the radio is real time with the play on the field.

When I go home and watch a saints game on SD tv, and I dont like the national broadcasters, I will turn down the volume on the TV and listen to the radio broadcast while watching it on the screen, and it is 100% real time.

Directv, DishNetwork has a 7 second delay, a longer delay than HD with an antenna.

The signal has to go alot of places before it hits your dish.

The only way to get realtime football is if you use SDTV with an outdoor antenna or local NON DIGITAL CABLE.

my signal comes to my home via fiber optic.

I have no idea what all happens to that signal prior to it getting to my TV.

I believe one or two of the US networks do have a national delay of 3 seconds.

As regards having an advantage in person, it's absolutely the case. Without going into detail, I've made a killing on the UK-based tennis tournaments the last few years on Betfair.
