@ Lowe's they have battery powered traps that shock them. I live in the country, so we always have a few running. Until we got these traps. Get 2 of them they work. They're about $20 a piece.

A cat is not bad, if you like cats, or tolerate them, but you need one that hunts. A good Mouser-cat would get them, my last cat (Animal) was a Hunter. There were dead mice everywhere, neighbors ( condos) complained, he was an outdoor cat, killed by a truck or something. That cat would leave dozens dead mice on your doorstep a week.

New cat (cooter) would play with a mouse. I don't know how to pick a hunter-cat, but if you get one, it will work.

I had mice too and was going to try those electronic devices but read that they're somewhat useless so I got those Rentokil traps/poison instead and they work great.

Don't use any of those poisons. It de-hydrates the mice, and they try to climb into walls to die (possibly looking for water).

May I suggest-

Woman Shoots Herself While Trying to Kill Mice

POTTER VALLEY, Calif. — A Mendocino County woman who was trying to kill mice in her trailer with a gun ended up shooting herself and another person.

The 43-year-old woman pulled out her .44-caliber Magnum revolver after she saw the mice scurrying across the floor of her trailer on Highway 20 in Potter Valley, sheriff's officials said.

But she accidentally dropped the gun, which went off as it struck the floor. The bullet went through the woman's kneecap, bounced off the keys sitting on the belt loop of a 42-year-old man in the trailer and grazed the man's groin before ending up in his coin pocket.

Authorities did not release the shooting victims' names.

The mice escaped the shooting unharmed.

How to catch a mouse without a mousetrap

0920-mouse.jpg

Humanely
I had a little friend visit my apartment the other week, and for a while there I was ready to make peace with him and co-exist. But after I cleaned up the place and ordered pizza one night, and it crawled up the side of my chair onto the sleeve of my shirt, I knew it was time to bid farewell.
Here's how I caught the critter:
  1. Get a toilet paper tube and crease two lines to form a flat sided tunnel.
  2. Put a treat on one end of the tube: A cracker and dab of peanut butter works great.
  3. Get a tall (at least 20 inches) bucket. A trash can works well.
  4. Balance the tube precariously on the edge of a table or counter with the treat hanging directly over the tall sided receptacle.
  5. The mouse will scurry to the treat (they like tunnels) and fall into the trap.
Set the fella loose at least a mile away from your abode.

Had a bad problem last year with mice...I just put boxes of that Decon mouse poisioning around...They ate a ton of it and have not had a problem since. The only problem is if you have kids or pets you cannnot put it around were they can get it....Best of luck

I had mice a couple of years ago and I bought a device that you plug into any electrical outlet in your house. This thing gives off a sound that is unheard to man, but the mice and bugs are driven crazy and leave.

Have not seen one mouse since.

I second the rec on the electronic traps. Had a mouse problem last year and we bought 3 kinds of traps, the electronic one was the only one worth a damn, caught a mouse/day and solved it.

I def think the poison setups are the best. They eat, they die... Best scenario for all

Over at Walmart they have "mice cubes" they are only about $2 a piece. They work great if you want to keep them alive, works sort of like a crab trap where they can get in but cant get out. I used half an oreo cookie and a goldfish snack and caught one every day until they were gone. Then I would just drive a few blockes aways and let them go.
