I got 8 runs in the first so I went out and bought stuff, knowing I had assured a win with a start like that.

probably better that way. who wants to watch 8 innings of 1 run ball with the over in hand?

That's a bad beat. Bet the over again tomorrow. Chan Ho should be able to help you out, and the Rangers should keep hitting.

Tough beat, but I have had worse. I remember one game I had over 8.5 and the score was 8-0 in the top of the first with nobody out and two runners in scoring position. They bring in another pitcher who strikes out the side and stays in the game pitching shutout ball until leaving in the 8th. Other pitcher throws a 2-hit complete game shutout and wouldn't you know game ends 8-0. I could name a few others that were bad, not that bad, but pretty close. Totals in baseball and hockey are like that. Teams score a bunch and then go cold the rest of the game, especially when one gets a big lead like the Rangers did.

The Devil Rays suck. I agree with Looseyourself, the Rangers have hot bats, and that Ho (Chan:) shouldn't dissappoint.

That's probably not quite as bad as having a game that's over the total already but gets rained out or called before 8.5 innings have elapsed, which has happened to me a few times.

Watched the first few innings. Texas went yard three times in the first, you need just two to cover, and Texas is knocking the cover off the ball. Yes, I would say this ranks right up there as bad beats go. Only one positive to be found, it's only one game.

BTW, had the RL. Trying it again in Tuesday's game.

That has to go down as one of the toughest beats of the year. The cinci collapse was horrible, but IMO, this may have been worse.

I dont know how many times I have done the same thing...thinking I had a sure winner...go out and blow some money only to learn I lose by 1 run, or a 1/2 point, or a missed FG....sucks...

Bad beats seem to come in bunches, especially when you're in a bad streak. I remember about 10 years ago, I was on a 5 day losing streak or something, and I just loved the Cubs over at Wrigley with the wind blowing out, so I send it in on OVER 9.5 with Chi/Colo. The Rockies hit a solo shot in the top of the first, then the Cubs answered with 9 runs in their half of the first. Finally, I broke the streak. Then it started raining a little, then it picked up. Oh shit, a rain delay. After about 40 minutes they resumed play thank God. Then, in the bottom of the seventh, with the score 14-4 or something, it started raining again and they immediately called the rest of the game off. That one went right up my ass.

Sounds like many of the people here just started wagering on baseball last week!

This is the way the game goes. People do bet the other side of these games too. We just forget the lucky wins and tend to concentrate on the bad beats. Not good, but human nature.

Not busting balls too hard. Just bringing you back to reality.
