Not sure what all the big hub bub is about Thad Cochran being elected. I understand the "old guard, RINO" mentality that is sweeping the nation. The one thing that I do know is that he is the head of the appropriations committee that doles out government contracts to places like shipyards, air force bases, and other government entities. If he was to be voted out the next ranking member from the Republican side would be down the food chain, basically giving control of that committee to the Democrats.

Anyways, I do not claim to be an expert on this area, but anyone who says that Cochran ran a dirty campaign has NO IDEA the campaign that McDaniel ran..or just is hearing from someone who is clueless.

McDaniel's TV and radio spots were absolutely brutal. In fact, they went as far as spying on his wife and sent a campaign person into the nursing home where his wife lives (terminally ill or alzheimers or something like that) to try to dig up dirt on Cochran.

Cochran's strategy was the same one he had when he was young doing unmentionable things with farm animals.

Only this time Cochran and the RINO establishment both screwed the pooch because McDaniel voters won't vote for him in the general election.

Cochran may have won the battle but will lose the war.

Chris McDaniel was on the Mark Levin Show tonight and said that he is not going to concede the election right now. Rather, there are a couple of things he intends to investigate:

We haven’t conceded and we’re not going to concede right now. We’re going to investigate.

Naturally sometimes it’s difficult to contest an election, obviously, but we do know that 35,000 Democrats crossed over. And we know many of those Democrats did vote in the Democratic primary just three weeks ago which makes it illegal.

We likewise know that we have a statute, a law in our state that says you cannot participate in a primary unless you intend to support that candidate. And we know good and well that these 35,000 democrats have no intention to do that. They’ll be voting for Travis Childers in November. We know that. They know that. And so that makes their actions illegal.

So we’re going to be fighting this.

So you are saying that you would rather it will be a pick up for Dem's in November?

Curious, why would Dem's turn out for Cochran? It seems to me that based on previous elections that the Dem's would want the Tea Party candidate in the general.

Either way, MS stays R this fall even if McDaniel continues to be a sore loser. I know this is MS but damn Joe you want to give away a state just because your man lost. This is politics, McDaniel and his supporters need to grow a pair and stop being childish.

Very good post Gassy. McDaniel is a POS, sore losing, Dirty Bastard. He is giving the Tea Party wing a worse name among normal, sane people, then they already have, and it will just marginalize them further. They are attacking Cochrane because he went after the Black Vote, after the Democratic and Independent vote??? Are they F'n kidding. That's what Republicans nationwide should be striving for. If this finally leads to the Tea Party finally abandoning the R's and going 3rd party, it's only a Good Thing Long term for the R's, and for the Country.
