its horseshit for ghosts, newbies, guys with low post counts, or those that never post picks to bash a veteran like OMT that at least win or lose, posts his action here.

Greenhead, you are starting to sound an awful lot like a certain friend of yours. The mods do not allow OldManTed or any other poster to do anything against the rules on purpose. The fact is we cannot moderate what is a widely available line and what is not day in and day out, we rely on posters to report cappers using unbetable lines in the Tracker Forum and as far as I know no one has ever reported Ted for doing so.

His record is all there and stands for itself win or lose, that is why we have the tracker forum. There is no double standard existing for any poster including OldManTed who has to use the same rules as everyone else in the Tracker Forum.

Regarding using Pinnacle as a source, personally I agree that cappers should not use them anymore but that has never been addressed since they became unavailable to post-up US players. Something I will certainly discuss with The Rx.com Advisory Board before football.

Until then by rule Pinnacle does fit the standard by still being a top tier book globally, which is all we ask players to use as a source. either a book listed on Rx.com live lines or a top tier book that is not available on Rx.com Live Lines, which would include books like The Greek.com along with Pinnacle and a few others.

Bottom line is Ted gets no special treatment from any moderator and there is no double standard. Regarding Ted's 2nd half plays - they are not allowed in the Tracker Forum so that makes any discussion of them in that context moot but are natrually allowed in the less structured sports forums where various forums depending upon the season get hundreds of threads posted every day, College Football Saturdays see over 300 different new threads. Some of them are 2nd half picks but again we cannot moderate widely available in the sports forums plus we only request posters use WA lines in those forums, there is no actual rule to that effect..

This is a post that every poster at every sports forum should read.

I'm sorry Will maybe you didn't know OMT is a friend of mine also.I bet I've met him more times then you.But I will call a spade a spade. And there is a double standard here.
Widely available lines means WIDELY AVAILABLE LINES.Did you one time tell these posters to use widely available lines. All you had to do was send them an e-mail.I doubt you or any of the mods did.It was obvious to many.Just check out the RR thread about this subject.Oh but I know, you answered this "The mods do not allow any poster to do anything against the rules on PURPOSE."Key word "PURPOSE".

As for the friend you have in mind. This has nothing to do with my opinion. You have never seen me ghost on his behalf in any way.And lets be honest you've had a hard on for him since he started 4 years ago.But thats your loss and my gain.I get his picks.Thankyou RX for that.

Greenhead.

I have preached widely available lines endlessly for the last two years. Try reading the original rules in the Tracker Forum (that I created over two years ago) or do an extended search for the word widely or available by wilheim in any of the major sport forums.

Click on link and read post #2 dated June 1st. I have posted this in all of the major sport forums when they are in season.

http://www.therxforum.com/showthread.php?t=488469

Attention Handicappers - Please use WA (Widely Available) numbers.
<HR style="COLOR: #fdde82" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->When you post a pick please use numbers that are widley available at the time of you're post. WA or widley available lines make it easy for everyone to use the play. I have recieved several E-mails asking me to make an announcement. Remember this is not a popularity contest but a handicapping forum - lets make it as easy as possible for everyone to participate. If you use free half point outs simply state so. Laying -6 at 7AM then posting a pick at -6 when it is up to -7 or 7.5 by 4PM helps no one. The same goes for baseball posting a favorite at -125 when you played it the night before and saying it is a play when the game is now -145 does little good for anyone. Remember post the number that is widley available for all at the time of you're post.

--------------------

There are other similar announcments scattered around the various sport forums that are now in the off season. No one has ever campaigned more than I have on this site for the use of widely available lines.

PS. From Tracker Forums rules posted in March of 2005:

#4. You must use WIDELY AVAILABLE lines at the time of posting. No locals will be accepted as line sources. Any line used must be displayed on Rx. live lines by at least one live lines book or top tier book at the time the pick is posted. Please post at least one book from Rx. Live Lines or other top tier book as the source of you're line with each pick

Thankyou Wil.I do admit you have preached using widely available lines more than any one here. And thats why I couldnt figure out why a mod or advisory board member wouldnt follow your rules.Thats how I came with the opinion on the double standard.Keep up the great work, congratulations on the 2 year anniversary, and thankyou I'm sure from all posters you've helped get their money.

These are the statements that make me scratch my head.
All you have to do is go in the tracker forum and go back pages and check his record for the last few years.
Yes he starts a very nice thread with lots of words and lots of replies by himself, but when it comes to W's vs L's, I'm sorry its not very impressive. These are the facts. When it came to his second half plays he did not use widely available lines. Those are the mods rules not mine.Yet they let him post lines that did not exist.
Ace Ace same thing. He uses A friends Pinny acct.HELLO.They dont advertise here. They are not a widely available line.He plagiarize's and the mods let him do it.Why--
Its called double standard. If they like you,you can do what ever you want.If the dont becarefull.

greenhead.........i will admit i dont have a clue to what omt's win - loss record is..nor any other capper at the rx...

the reason i said what i did was because of several factors

1. his writeups are are informative and insightful
2. his betting strategy is sound
3. he is far from egotistical
4. and he has been around for quite sometime

i know what it takes to beat the book....and he has the qualities it takes...remember one season doesnt make you a winner or loser in my book....gl

As far as OMT, this is all way too simple. The guy was not a consistent winner. In fact, he was a loser in most sports. He posted lines that were not widely available. He started chasing during the NCAA tourny, playing close to every 2H line available. I called him out on that, as well as many other posters, during March Madness. His apparent nice guy, old man, who has been doing this forever shtick, along with his writing ability made him look much better than he actually was.

I don't know his record or about the whole widely available lines thing but I always thought he wasn't much better than anyone else...and I did notice the NCAA tourney thing, he started betting everything and some of the times he was way off on his reasoning and it was obvious to people who actually knew the teams he was betting on or against

good guy for the most part though I can forgive him for one mistake like this
