I don't know, I feel like guys that say that are creating an excuse for terrorists to be terrorists. I mean, there's no excuses for groups like ISIS or Al-Qaeda to be terrorists no matter what has taken place throughout history.

It's kind of like saying beer sold at stadiums forces fans to act unruly so we should blame beer instead of the person committing the actual act right?

A terrorist is going to be a terrorist no matter who is in the White House IMO.

They way the US wants to fight over there is to arm insurgents, to pit a group of people against another.

But invariably whichever group emerges victorious, will turn against the US or do the same kind of crap the previous one was doing

To fight USSR, the US created Bin Laden

to combat Iran, the US created Saddam.

so and so forth

I guess I'm really wondering why Jeb is getting these questions now? Is it because George is his brother? Is that the only reason? I mean, who cares?

It doesn't.

Placing blame on Obama or Bush is really irrelevant to me. A terrorist is still a terrorist and I don't really care why they become terrorists I guess is my point.

Really? I think it spells it out pretty good.

Without the invasion of Iraq....Isis probably doesn't exist.

Nah....it's because he's making idiotic comments about Obama and Iraq.

You're missing my point. I don't see it as important as to why they came about as I do as to what we're going to do about it now and...to hold them accountable as terrorists instead of playing the blame game.

I didn't read it that way. I read it as blaming Bush for dismantling the old Iraqi Army as the reason they rose up.

I honestly feel there's been things done by the last four administrations that may have contributed to the rise in terror. Not that there are excuses in people becoming terrorists, just an explanation as to the "why."

It's pretty important why they came about, what caused the horrid situation in Iraq, and who would have the wisdom to avoid such situations in the future. That's what running for President is about. Jeb has had 4 different positions on it in 4 days, breaking Romney's record for rapid flip flops.
If Hillary didn't back the Iraq invasion, she would have been President for the last 8 years. Even earlier, Kerry probably wins if he made the right decision early on, in 2004. Obama won because he had the wisdom to call it a stupid war early on. Without that, he's still in the Senate.

Ahhhhhhhhh, finally get to put my college major to work (history and world religions).

You do know there are two types of Muslim extremist groups. And those groups have been around for over 1300 years.

Doesn't matter who is in office those groups will always exist by one name or another.
Unless Bush can time travel to create religion, he couldn't have made Isis, as they were already a group of extremist believers, and it didn't happen overnight.

Also the point that because of Bush they got into to power is invoking the "butterfly effect", which can't be proven one way or another.

Just an opinion without proof.

Take out the word Probably.

Hilarious.

Note: “By the time Americans left Iraq in 2011, al Qaeda in Iraq had been almost completely destroyed,” Smith says. “But the ISIS of 2014 is reborn out of Sunni fears, and by the people the U.S. couldn’t manage to kill during the war — described to me as ‘a collection of killers very good at surviving’: the most battle-hardened Al Qaeda militants, a few embittered tribesmen, and some remnants of Saddam's Baathist military hoping to regain power.”

Note that even the New Yorker points out that ISIS came out of Syria. Guess who's Syria policy is a complete & utter disaster?

As to why. Leftism is not for thinkers. It is about dumb slogans and the absence of thinking.

It is tribalism to not think, granted to those who dislike thinking. They are people who will just uncritically accept a claim if you get enough people to parrot it. (“Bush lied” “tax cuts for the rich” “Republicans hate the poor” "climate change!" "rape culture" etc, etc, etc.)

If you blame President Bush for ISIS, you are neither a thinker or capable of telling the truth.

Haha. That's good info. Dems always have to clean up the messes Repubs create.

Hahaha, you're a fucking moron:

Islamic State militants seize key areas in capital of Iraq’s largest province

LMAO, you're a fucking moron:

we’re leaving behind a sovereign, stable and self-reliant Iraq, with a representative government that was elected by its people. We’re building a new partnership between our nations. And we are ending a war not with a final battle, but with a final march toward home.
This is an extraordinary achievement, nearly nine years in the making.
