To be a professional gambler without living in Las Vegas. To depend on off shore books and locals, If you're really good, Off shore will ultimately cut you off
or severely limit you. Plus the high transaction fees that go along with off shore. Even local books would get tired of paying you. Any thoughts?

Couldn't happen with my set up. Online local with very few betting options (can't parlay 2 dogs) limited in game betting, tough odds, limited props. I could go offshore but choose not to deal with the headache since I'm a small player.

Agree.

Too many hoops offshore even when you win.

my local is one of the largest in Chicago. I am small small time compared to the money they handle and I would trust them to do right by me more than any online could ever

I'm talking about being a professional where your sole income is from gambling.

I'm an old retired dude. I don't pretend to be a professional gambler who's only income is wagering. Been doing this gaming stuff for over 40 years, but never as only income. My goal these days is to win around 10 to 20 per year. Have met that goal the past two years and I never, ever bet over $300 a game.

I have had the same local for 17-18 years now. He has won some and I have won more. I bring him customers....and he has never dropped me. Many occasions when I and my gang have been hot...his guys will bet it off with someone else.

Solid guys....and I try to be a good player and help them by bringing in new players.

Can you make it as a recreational bettor in Vegas? Looking to retiring early and move to Vegas. Will be receiving a monthly annuity check for $3400 and like to make at least $500/month betting on sports in Vegas.

Consistently using the above prices will turn you to dogmeat over time. I don't care how good you think you are. I see Vegas boards are full of -110s'.

Kind Regards

The best thing to do if you want to be a professional gambler is leave the US..... then you options are essentially unlimited. But if you have to stay in the US then Vegas is the only option.

Horseshit with due respect Cyyyyyyyyyy.

JESUS...wanting to be and actually being a small percentage of players who can actually make a living (WITHOUT GOING BELLY UP) in Vegas is so damn small it's chilling.

Hell men...its a handful for God's Sake...and small hands.

I did not say they would succeed..... I said it is the only option of you live in the US. It is not a very good option to be honest..... anywhere is Europe would be a much better option (with access to Pinnacle, Betfair etc.). Obviously the vigs are tough to beat in Vegas..... I am not arguing that...... but there is no alternative right now if you live in the US.

Yea you have to live in Vegas.
No doubt about it if you live in the USA.
Justin Cruise is the only person I have ever heard of living outside of vegas who has ever pulled it off.
But that is the exception of course.

Why am I walking on failure it I'm discipline by being very selective on my plays and use good money management.
