I don't use big words like guarantee much, but there is one game that is down right tasty this week and that is Iowa vs Iowa State. I get this is a rivalry, but Iowa State is just awful. Lazard(starting WR for ISU) ran his mouth during Iowa's Rose Bowl embarrassment and I know players on the team that have said this is payback time. Both lines for ISU are junk and they just lost to UNI who isn't as good as they are normally either. Iowa will run for 300 plus yards in this game. I can go even more in depth if need be, but this is going to be one of the 42-14 type games. Iowa is better at every facet of the game and if you put their teams together they would have one starter(Lazard) that would play for Iowa. Domination in Iowa City on Saturday...and it is a night game on top of that!
I am betting more on how bad Iowa State is on this game. Totally agree that Iowa State's Super Bowl is Iowa every year, but the difference in line play here is just not fair. Again, I am not one to toot my horn on this, but I feel very good about this game. Remember Miami(OH) also this year. I think they could win us some money....that QB is much better than most think. The gambling god's won't be able to catch up to them right away and they could be very profitable weeks 3-7!
This is a total mismatch. ISU has no O line - no experience and all new starters. No studs either. New ISU coach Campbell is going to see what playing on the road is like in front of 70,000. If Lazard's comments are bulletin board material then Ferentz won't mind running it up some.
Typically Ferentz doesn't run it up early in the season. He doesn't like his players getting a big head. He has a losing record to ISU. ISU is wounded and typically play very competitvely in this contest.
I have to agree with Corn Nuts - this year is a mismatch. Iowa is always favored in this game. I don't see how ISU scores on Iowa this year - not without an offensive line and no running game. ISU's hopes could fizzle quickly in this contest. Iowa will be content running the ball and burning the clock.
