Any sportsbook that does NOT specify in their BONUS ads that their bonus is a MATCHPLAY, and not a CASH bonus.

Very misleading at times, both to the newbie and the veteran offshore bettor.

Kudos to the sportsbooks that specify either CASH or MATCHPLAY bonus in their ads and shame on those that do not........specifically the ones that do not mention either and it turns out they are offering a MATCHPLAY and not a CASH bonus.

Books----Lets be specific in your marketing banners and other various ads.
I know damn well some of you are attempting to decieve the general public on this one.

Sorry if I come off as a tad irritated, as this probably doesnt bother the majority of posters as it does me.

But damn, sometimes you have to be SHERLOCK HOLMES to find the small print on these promos and it is very frustrating...........and thats when you know you have to read the small print to get the lowdown.

I really feel sorry for the newbie who just sends his or her money away expecting a CASH bonus only to find out it is something other.

Actually, you were the one that got me thinking about this again with your recent talk about bonuses.

Yet another reason why I hate bonuses!!! I see too much red tape involved with them & rather not have them at all!

Seems to be standard practice of late. I am fine with it in ads as long as you are forced to see before you signup what kind of bonus it is and what the terms are. Books that list whatever % bonus but don't tell you what it is until you fund are crap.

I also think books need to list all withdrawal fees on their site.

I disagree in the sense that a matchplay is still a type of bonus. It may not be a cash bonus, but it still remains something more than you had before, which translates into a bonus IMO. For example, if I go out to dinner, and they offer me a free dessert, that IMO is still a bonus, because it is something FREE that i didn't have earlier. If someone gives me a free shot at something, that is a bonus in my opinion. I agree that a cash bonus is better, but a matchplay is still a bonus, just a lamer one.

Weekalki-- Not so fast my furry friend.

If I am expecting apple pie ala mode and only get the pie, I AM NOT HAPPY.

I DISAGREE WITH YOUR STATEMENT.

What's worse IMO is when they advertise 30% and it's really 10% sign-up, 10% re-up, and 10% referral. I personally never bother with referrals and to add sign-up to re-up is like adding the 10% advertised to the 10% you get -- ie. totally ridiculous.

BTW I'm not into bonuses these days and one sure way to get me DISinterested in a book fast is to advertise a 30% bonus.

If I get something in the mail (or email) and the bonus isn't clearly defined, I throw it away. Why should I waste my time contacting the book/casino in order to determine the bonus policy?

However, there are lots of uneducated players who get excited when they see a 30% bonus (using Darryl's example, 10% sign-up, 10% re-up, 10% referral). And those are exactly the people the book/casino wants.

Please ENLIGHTEN us on which book(s) you are refering to that do not specify this.

And of course which good books here at the Rx DO specify this.

Thanks

I totally agree. at least with the match vs cash, I can see some justification for claiming they are giving you a 30% bonus when in truth its just a Bonus Bet equalling 30% of your deposit.
But there is no way you can justify saying you give a 30% bonus when its really just 10%, deposit, 10% reload, and 10% referal. If I only send $1000 I'm not getting more than $100 bonus. Books that advertise that way deserve players who come in with multiple id's and refer themselves. Afterall, how else are they ever suppose to get the advertised bonus.

If I would write a book and they reply that I am to receive a 20% bonus, then I expect it to be a cash bonus. If I send the money and find it is a Bonus Play, then I would not like. Clear and precise should be the norm up front.

FISHHEAD

Please answer my above questions

Being that you are a Moderator and that "you started this thread" it would be nice if you would at least mention the book that has the misleading Bonus ad etc.

In addition the Rx does have a thread that rates sportsbooks on HOW they pay..good, slow etc.

A good project for you mods would be to add the Bonus offers and structures as well for at least the top 10 books or so. Or at least START a bonus info thread.

Thanks

Please see here , but I would also suggest calling the book as well to assure the offer is still available.

General thanks for you help. I am aware of that page but still think it would be informitive for all the posters and readers here at the Rx if there was a THREAD that listed all/many books with the bonus offers and structure they offer. And especially which ones that play games with their bonuses. It would also be NICE if FISHHEAD would back up what he posts IMHO.
