Being uninsured is no excuse. There are city and county general hospitals that cost you nothing but time. You don't know what you have and what you're doing for it could possibly be worthless. People die everyday from infections they don't know they have. Get to an ER.
Thanks for all the input everyone.Today I have been really feeling week with all over body pain and the throat pain seems to have only gotten worse so I decided to go to the ER.I was diagnosed with Strep.I got some Penicillin and Vicoden.You guys are right,it is good to go get checked out.I was just hoping it was something else less serious,I helped my friend put in a new bathroom at his house Saturday(when it first started) and thought it may just be irritation from the open sewage or the dust or something.Again though ,thanks alot everyone for all of the advice.

never had strep but fear it greatly. i do however get bronchitis quite often and the first symptom is always a very sore throat. from there, it turns into a terrible deep cough with tons of phlegm, but the sore throat subsides.
i hear strep is on a totally different level though.. your throat's on fire and you can't swallow. supposedly, if you grab a flashlight and angle a mirror down your throat you'll be able to see white spots. i bet all the doc at the ER had to do was take a look down there, grim.

Yea, I started the medication as soon as I got it.Took two Vikes,still have throat pain when I swallow or cough but its not as severe,my body feels a ton better though.I was told that it should clear up from the pinicillin after about 72 hours,but to keep taking for 10 days.Im about to pop a few more Vikes in a few hours,hopefully it'll let me sleep better tonight,last night was rough.I will update.Thanks again for the concern.Later
When you start feeling bad, the first thing you should do is get some chewable vitamin C tablets. Take about 300% of a daily dose of that. Every time I feel a cold coming on I do this and it goes away. I haven't had a cold in 7 years or so since I started this, knock on wood.
There is also medicine on the market that is over the counter that claims to stop a cold when you feel it coming on. It starts with a Z.

My throat pain is gone.I still feel a little under the weather but no longer need pain pills.I still have to take the penicillin until is is finished for it not to return.Thanks everyone,I hope none of you catch it but if you do now you know what to do.Go to the Dr.
