4. Feel as though they have nothing new to contribute.
That about sums it up for me. I can speak intelligently on 5% of the subjects I see on these boards. When I run across one of the 5%'ers, I am not normally the first in with my thought. So I rarely post.

Up until now I have resisted the urge to post stuff like, "Way to go Ace;" "You da man Sherwood," and "I'm on it with you Kojak," etc. ...even though Ace went great, Sherwood is the man, and I have been on it with Kojak more than once. And I seem to never get my money stolen by sportsbooks, so I don't even have THAT going for me. As long as I'm typing I should add some content to this post so here goes:

Thanks again for my tee-shirt RX. YOU DA MAN WILHEIM! :thumbsup2:

If you make a non conventional remark that directly opposes a well known opinion on here you are immediately dismissed as a 'newbie' or someone described as a poster with " double digit posts" or some similar disparaging comment like that. It's amazing how many posters here, whether they have voiced it or not, see a direct correlation between number of posts and validity of opinion.

Joey ,

if a newbee out of the blue gets into a heated thread and starts flaming

99.9% of the time its a GHOST and I think that mindset sticks with posters that have been here a long time and I understand where that comes from

If newbee disagrees respectfully and posts his/her view they are going to be respected much more then the one coming out of the blocks flaming IMHO

A conflicting opinion could simply be stating " I like BC to cover tonight", when Respected Poster X has been saying all day that " Duke will roll over BC tonight". Hardly fighting words by the newbie but I've seen this kind of post dismissed as a direct result of his number of posts.

Yeah I've seen that too. Not what I was referring to here. Just saying that there is a bit of a catch 22 here whereby you dont want to voice your opinion because of your low post count but you can't increase your post count unless you voice your opinion here and there.

That's all.

I think, maybe, trying to express yourself on a screen is not as easy as it looks. And you have to admit, there are some posters that will jump at a chance to make someone look bad/stupid, even though the new poster explains that they are new and don't know what they are doing.

Nevertheless, newbie postings may not be understandable to all (let alone to themselves) Some could think "deceiving/alternative motives" are behind the postings (and I'm sure there has been many) but I think it comes down to inexperience.

LIVE AND LEARN, I guess you could say
Or should it be POST and LEARN

I think I was just too lazy to signup for a while. I was new to gambling and just soaking in all the information I could. Had no real reason to post or signup even because I could already read everything. Finally decided I almost owed it to the site to register and since then I have posted daily in the CBB forum and can't wait for Baseball.
you should sign up for tulsa daily baseball thread...it's alot of fun.
