That's it boys, Sick Gambler has given up hopes to win this contest. I am ashamed to say it, but after last night, I feel like my chances now are all but gone. Last night, I f ucked up in the contest and copied and pasted the wrong game. I put under in ANA when in fact, my play I bet was the over. So I really only should have gone 1-2 last night, rather than 0-3. I was distracted last night while on a social call with someone. Never again will I talk on the phone while betting. But I am not that mad because had it been the other way around, and played wrong game with book for real $$$ and wrote it down right here, I'd be fuming. $$$ to me means more than a contest. In fact, I am still up this year in betting pucks with my books at only +4.3 units, so no complaint really. Nothing great, but I am confident that will only go up higher. But I swear I am not making this up. I have never come back after a game and said I bet a wrong game, it is not my style. This really did happen to me.
But the reason for this post is I now stand hardly a chance at winning this baby because of these 2 lost units in swing. These are 2 big units I just lost here. It will be very very hard to make up these 2 units, considering 2 things. First, I projected that the winner will end up with anywhere from +34 to +43 units. So for me to win this thing hovering at only +0.44 units now is virtually impossible. So in order to win this thing, I will have to hit close to 62% of my remaining games, which is going to be tough. I do have my work cut out for this. I highly doubt I can hit 62% over the next 200 or so games. And secondly, at only 3 games max a day we can bet, and only 5 days a week, this is why it will be impossible to capture this thing, because had we been able to play 6 games a day like last year, and everyday, I'd only need approx 55-56% to win this thing, and that, I'm sure I could pull off.
So it's been fun boys. I will still continue to throw my games in the contest around, but I have thrown in the towel in terms of hope. I'd like to give my thumbs up to Ivan who is hovering around the top 10 still, but don't expect that to last. Ivan is the biggest choker in gambling history folks, and before the All Star break, he will not even be in the top 50 anymore. I have raised my 9/1 odds of winning now to 125/1, and have lowered Ivan from 1500/1 to 675/1 now.
IMO, if any of you are not in the top 25 now, your chances of winning this thing is close to none, and that's because there ain't enough games left to play, and we are only limited to 3 games a day, 5 days a week. But keep plugging away boys and you never know. Don't give up on your dreams and you never know, as stranger things have happened.
