How can you dare say the UNDER was a BAD BEAT???
Did you WATCH the GAME????
All it took for the Total to go OVER was an opening Kickoff return for a TD, an 8 Yard punt in the 4th quarter, and a 106 Yard INTERCEPTION for a TD!!!
OVEr at half-time was looking pretty darn good... just need 13 points. Considering there were 5 FG's in the first half, some could argue that there should've been at least 1 or 2 TD's in there if you consider what average red zone scoring "should be".
So many ways for this thing to go over. Cleveland could've punched it in when they had it 1st-and-goal at the 5yard line but it turned out to be INT TD return.
Where i will side with the under bettors here is that all defenses are taught in that situation to go DOWN. The game is over if you go down. Your offense goes on the field and does victory kneal down. Where you run the risk in running it back... although the fans love it... is if some fluke accident happens where you fumble the ball and the other team now gets the ball back
OR... if you're talking less than 2 minutes left and the other team has no timeouts, it's possible they could return the kickoff for a TD then do an onside kick. Where as if you just go down the game is over.
This type of thing happens about once a year...
