Sometimes I wonder how every member of congress would vote on things if they weren't as interested in towing the party line or pandering to opinion polls as they were in doing what THEY themselves truly thought was the right thing to do. For example, the majority if dems in the US are opposed to the war in Iraq...but when you'd watch Tony Blair in his weekly Q&A session in the British parliment a few years back, the British conservative party over there was spewing the same anti-war lines as the dems over here...and it was all done to pander to public opinion and try to get themselves elected. Really made me irate.
