Last time I looked Rupert, there were 5 men in the same uniforms on the floor...Boston is not a contender..either Allen or Pierce will go down with an injury, and then what....

With Garnett, Peirce and Allen , believe you me , they are a Contender to compete in the Eastern Conference Finals. as long as they are healthy for the playoffs ( roughly a 20-25 game stretch) thats all that really matters.

Yeah and if they are not healthy before the playoffs and fall too far behind, it won't matter...now put that sandwich down from the Time Out Tavern and rethink what you just said....didn't you mean pretenders....

I don't question Ainge's decision to trade for Garnett. But I do question his decision to trade for Ray Allen. I think the Wolves would've agreed to to substitude Al Jefferson for the number 5 pick. So in essence, they would've have gotten Jeff Green, Ryan Gomes, Gerald Green, Sebastian Telfair, Ratliff's expiring contract and two future 1st round picks. The Celtics, on the other hand, would have a roster that includes two dominant big men in KG and Al Jefferson, an all-star perimeter player in Pierce, great supporting casts in Wally, Delonte West, and a bunch of others. They would arguably have the best roster in the NBA. No team has a front court that can match both KG and Al Jefferson. But I guess the reason they couldn't pull it off is because Garnett refused to play in Boston before the Ray Allen trade.
